So I think this tells us all one thing. Do your research before purchasing a stick-on duckbill.
If your happy with it, install it and forget it.
The 3M tapes of today are seriously permanent so be sure your choice is what you want.
If you need to remove it, expect some paint damage.

The paints going to be faded under it anyway if it's on for a reasonable amount of time.

If I would list the things I have done to the car while “fixing” or adding things, you all would get a stroke.

it’s a badge of honor. Nobody will notice it unless you point at it.
There's a mechanics job at a dealership with your name on it. ;)

Paint fades from things like sunlight exposure. If anything, the paint under the spoiler will look newer than the rest of the paint

I just did the paint matched badges a month or so ago. Was so nerve racking! The good news is it's probably just you who will notice. We see this small stuff as some huge blemish when 99% of people will just see a beautiful car. Wouldn't sweat it OP. Great looking blue and badge.
I agree 100%!!!

I messed up on mine too, and I see it everytime i wash the car, but when i go to cars and coffee no one even notices it. Just something I can only see.

if i ever remove a spoiler, or my badges, im using my fingers. no fishing line, no floss, no pry tool. there is no way i could sleep at night if i messed up my trunk
Be smarter.

If i knew better i would of used masking/painter tape around the edges when removing the badge.

You are of course correct and have articulated what I was trying to say. Somewhere between my brain and the keyboard things got reversed.
For this reason I always use clear tank protectors on all my bikes. You use a patterned or fake carbon one and you prevent the scratches but can't escape the slight colour change and getting the exact same protector and getting it positioned perfectly again at replacement time is impossible.
