Hey y’all. Just had a quick question.

On a base 3.0 no JBL - can you swap out the OEM amp with an aftermarket amp just fine without any programming? (Local Miami shops don’t know the answer for my base lol)

Seen on debates on other forum posts because of base model 2 series and 3 series, but I just really want a definitive yes or no answer on the base 3.0 Supra so I can purchase an AMP finally.

Is there any programming needed or can I just unplug the old and plug in the new?

any help is greatly appreciated lol

You can just swap out the old amp with a new amp. It is all analog. You will just need a wire harness to plug in to the OEM harness.

Thank you so much for the reply. I saw you in another thread and wanted to bug you about this same question so glad you saw this one haha

In the other thread I saw the MATCH UP 8 amp was mentioned - would this be a good swap? Or would you recc a diff one. Not looking for anything crazy - just my stock amplifier took a shit so if I have to buy a new one...might as well upgrade

Don't know much about the match up. I went with an Audison AF M8.14 which gives 90w to doors/rears and 140w to subs. The DSP is what makes a huge difference with the extra power. Stock doors and rears are 4ohm and subs are 2ohm. The base rears only have a 4". No tweets, but I added tweets in mine and eliminated the center speaker.

I hate to be a bother bro, but could you link me (whenever you have the time) the amp and stuff you bought for this? I really wanna dummy proof my purchase incase I mess this up. I don't wanna have my buddy halfway thru send a text "ur missing sumthin bud". ?

You're like the first person I see here to give full answers on this topic (atleast to me) ?

Amp : https://audison.com/product/af-m8-14-bit/
Harness: https://audison.com/product/apbmw-reamp-1/

I went with the Audison harness because it had the plugs just like the Audison amp has. So no soldering. You will need to cut the blue remote wire from the Audison input harness and use that for the amp remote input. Also you do not use the positive and ground from the harness. Those you will run separately from the battery and chassis ground.
