So, Saturday I went down to the dealership and spoke to an older salesman which was an absolute pleasure to talk to. all the 992's they had there were way out of my range. I did find some vehicles there that were Gentian Blue, which by the way for me was one of those weird much better in photos and videos then in person things. And I can kinda say that about the car itself. It was a beautiful car. But for some reason I thought it didn't look as insanely wide or just grab my attention in person as much as they do in videos and photos. (exact opposite of the Supra as I find it much better in person then photos)

I was there about an hour and we talked about the company, the cars ( I had no idea Porsche will CPO 12 years and up to 124k miles one of their cars and give it a 2 year bumper to bumper unlimited mileage warranty) He showed me a 311k mile purple 2012 GT3 that was in for regular maintenance being held together with duct tape on the front splitter and zipties on the rear bumper, he stated for the owner he drives it like one would a civic, it's just a DD for him.

I was kinda shocked at the interior, as some said in here its sparse and there is a big upgrade from the 991.2 to the 992.1. Though fit and finish was impeccable. Everything felt so nice to touch even on an 2019 with 111k miles.

I'm going to rent one on Turo for a couple days and see what it's like and then I guess make my decision. I can't go dealership as they are just so much more the private party plus NV doesn't charge sales tax on private party registrations.

Overall, I can say I wasn't as jaw dropping impressed about the car overall looking at it as I was with my Supra first time seeing it (mine wasn't stock I seen the ad and knew I had to have it)
Here in Germany one can extend the warranty out to 15 years or 200,000kms! At least its a company willing to stand-by its product for a good length of time. In general the vehicles are well made and robust. Certainly not perfect in all ways or models. No car is...........

I went from a 2020 A90 Supra FBO to M4 G82 Manual FBO to Lotus Evora GT and then another Supra, but a manual, FBO and now a 992.1 C4S Manual, I did put downpipes and tune this past weekend.

I think they are all different cars. The M4 manual is very good, but the clutch can't stand the torque of the E40 tune. The xDrive G80/G82s can be brutally fast in straight line though, but they are heavy, numb dead steering feel and yes, you can feel the weight in corners and while breaking.

The manual Supra was super fun, the ratios are short, so you end up shifting all the time, the car feels light, but I had this issue with both Supras, somehow they feel weird at high speeds, or even during acceleration, like they pull to one side during acceleration. At high speed they don't feel super planted, they almost feel like they float or something, not sure, I never felt confident in the Supra at high speeds (over 130 mph).

The 992 is something else, the steering is similar to the Evora, way more feedback and super direct, although the Evora is the best for steering feel, period. The 992 is light, just like the Supra, however, it does feel planted to the ground, tons of traction and stable at high speeds.

The Supra feels closer to the 911 than the M4. The M4 is just a heavy GT car, whereas the Supra and the 911 are true sports cars.

Have you considered a 991.2? It's a good compromise in price and quality. There a nice low miles 991.2 and they are tuneable as well.

As for power, the M4 was a beast, almost 6.7 s in the 60-130 mph times with E40. The Supra was about 8.5s FBO with E50. This 992 tuned with 91 is doing high 7s. I bet it can match the M4 with E85.

Extra details, the Bose Sound System in the 911s is top notch, compared to the crappy JBL in the Supra. The HK in the M4 is so so.

I have thought about a 991.2. I was just looking at the extra power bump the 992.1 and for the most part the “wide body” that I like the look of.

I took a different route for sure. I ended up trading the Supra for…. An EV SUV lolol. Picked up a 23 EQS for 40k paid off a little debt and in 2 years plan on buying a 992.1 out right. So far, and it’s only been a week I love the EQS. Way way different, one day I just woke up got tired of the drone, the worry about the carbon lip and stuff and decided to sell it.

thanks so much for the insight and your experienc.

Wow, that's a completely different car! Congratulations, I know what it feels to get the itch to change the car! How do you like this EV? what about the sound system?

I did something similar, I sold the M4 and got a VB WRX to save some money for the 911. People usually don't know how hard is to buy a 911 and is not even a GT3 or anything, they have gone up in price quite a lot. Now that the S/GTS dumped the manual transmission, I would expect all the 992.1 manuals to go up in price even more.

So far I love it, It obviously is a huge change. nothing compares comfort wise. It's just the 450+ so don't have the dual motors. We wanted the extra range as we do make trips from Vegas to SoCal and this will make it on 1 trip. The 580 would've been closer to maybe/maybe not on a single charge.

Sound system is the best one I've heard in a factory car. I've built better and heard better but not OEM. The Burmester 3d system is pretty cool and sounds great.

At this moment i dont regret anything. I love the EV, it fits out life style but we are not getting rid of the Mazda 3 yet. making sure this works for us and our trips to SoCal for the inlaws and if so then will switch over to this as our daily and ill get the 911 then. goal is 911 eventually.
