Just curious if anyone else got insurance quotes?

I stopped by my agent the other day and gave him a VIN off this site for an estimate.

Total was 1,400 a year
Deductible: 1000
Uninsured/underinsured/medical: 500k
Glass: free glass repair and windshields

I have 2 speeding tickets on my record in the past 5 years. I believe one was for 6 over and the other about the same....

Anyway, I didnā€™t think that was too bad of a rate for a 2 seater.

Anybody else get any estimates?

hush don't alert the insurance agencies that there is a new car out there. I'm hoping to register it as a Camry :D

I don't think the fact that's it's a 2 seater is relevant to your quote. Is it just for just the MKV? If so, $1400/yr with a 1K deductible is expensive.

The only meaningful comparison on insurance premiums is the cost relative to other cars you own/insure. Wayyyy too many factors to reasonably compare to others, even in the same locale. The whole 2 seat vs. 4 seat, 2 door vs. 4 door, etc.. really means nothing in today's insurance premium valuation. Removing the driver and location variables, the biggest factors on the vehicle itself are how likely it is to be stolen and how expensive it is to repair. In other words, what's the likelihood of a claim being filed, and what is the avg payout in that event.

My Escalade is the most expensive vehicle to ensure, my wife's G37x is a distant second. Before I went to a stated value policy my Corvettes and Supra were pennies on the dollar relative to the others, which is somewhat ironic considering the ZR1 -- on paper -- is worth 3x or more of the others.

Yes

Yes, it is just for adding the Supra. I guess I was comparing it to my M5 that I sold last year....that was 1,200 a year, it was a 2008 with a total value of about 20k and same coverage. (I should say, 20k is what I sold it for, who knows how much I would have gotten if I totaled it)

I didnā€™t think too much about the 2-seat / 4-seat thing until I heard a few YouTube reviewers mention how much more insurance would be since it only has 2 seats. I guess I shouldnā€™t have believed them, but it peaked my interest enough to get some quotes.

You would think that ZR1 would cost the most, I guess thatā€™s why I am not an underwriter. Lol

Either way, I think this vehicle is going to be relatively cheap insure. (Unless of course you are that 18 year old guy with a few accidents and tickets on your record.)

Still waiting to hear back from Allstate they said the vehicle wasnā€™t in their system yet even though I had the Vin number. Has anyone gotten a quote from any major insurance companies or any for that matter?

Got a quote from Grundy Insurance company which is for collector cars with full coverage including full replacement value. They quoted me 762 dollars a year, with a good driving record. There were some restrictions, such as the good driving record, and the vehicle needed to be kept in a locked garage when not in use. There were no mileage limits on the policy. I thought that was pretty good for a quote assuming it is accurate without having a vin number.

Not official? Why not? Insurance type classes are set for 2019 and rates can be calculated.
(for Germany, 2019: 17/27/27 HP/TK/VK - HSN/TSN: 5013/AOB)

Yes, without custom insurance bonus (accident-free years, etc.), about 80-90ā‚¬/month, depending on region.

I'll have my insurance quote on monday. I'm 35, no accidents caused by me, or speeding tickets in over a decade. So we'll find out.

I have found Hagerty to the best. Especially with the style of cars I'm seeing in the profiles on this site.
It's important to go with market value replacement rather than book value or even stated value replacements.
My recent inquiries led me to signing with Hagerty. In case of a total loss, they will be going off market value + rather than book value or stated value that most typical insurances will go with.
An example of mine...'98 Supra TT, 6spd, 15k miles excellent condition
- Typical ins company will do NADA/KBB = $60k+- replacement value.
- Hagerty will do market value + for me. Getting to $125k+ replacement value. Very little $$$ difference too.
PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENTS!!
I'm 45 with clean drivers record. Quote is $428 a year on '20 Supra Launch. Full coverage w/$2k ded.

Okay, so an update from my insurance company. The 2020 supra is not in the system yet, so they have to judge it based off what I paid for the car.

$1503 yearly with full coverage for just the Supra.
$2163.26 with both the Supra and 2013 FRS.

I have Grundy collector policies for both my Supra and my ZR1. They write limited/pleasure use policies and have a few more limitations/stipulations than mentioned. Namely they also require every licensed driver in the household to have an 'acceptable' (i.e., something of meaningful value) daily usage vehicle separately and equivalently insured at all times.

Yes you are correct, they did mention that. There are two of us in the house and the Supra would be a third car. Probably a few other details once you get into setting up a new policy. Just in the looking stage now for insurance but we need something soon. Thanks!
