The whole world has now seen that he can overtake without being a dick about it, no going back now! ? ? ?What a move from Max into turn 1. No room for the stewards to impose their bullshit calls. In control the entire race. Poor Leclerc got absolutely screwed with safety car timings. Great drive by Hamilton. If Max can give a masterclass at quali in Monaco, this season is only beginning.

I feel bad for Lawson: rushed into the seat, destroyed his confidence, then pushed out due to a financial decision. Yuki, while he has performed marginally better, hasn't really seemed to be Red Bull first team material; sure he got 10th place in Imola, but that was mostly due to strategy. Hadjar seems like the best behind Max, but swapping him in would probably also destroy his confidence with a tricky car. Pretty tough, since Red Bull have already used 3 of 4 drivers allowed for the first team.Must be so hard being a RB fan and seeing just how useless your second driver has been since last season. How long until Yuki gets replaced?
Monaco this weekend, Saturday is the exciting day, but maybe the grand prix won't completely suck with the two stop being enforced. I just hope there is some variety of strategy to mix things up.
I really think they would have been better off going after either Sainz or Danny Ric. From what I have heard Max veto'd the Sainz pursuit but Danny Ric was always a possibility. Heck I'd even go after someone like Bottas over any of these young guys they have put next to Max.Good move by Max. I do chalk some of his move to Russell's launch and Oscar covering that off. If Oscar covered off Max, George would've gone up the inside.

Here's hoping that rain plays a part in Monaco to spice things up. If there was one race that I feel could be skipped yearly it's Monaco, but fat chance of that happening with Charles on the grid and all the history.
I like the idea of a seasoned, less crashing, more experience driver in the 2nd seat. Not Carlos because his personality would be too pressing with his own “ideas” for why the car isn’t working for him. However, I’ve never considered someone like Bottas. Damnnnnnn…. Hindsight is 20/20. That actually sounds like a great idea! Feel bad for Yuki or Liam. Coming from the more settled baby RB is quite the leap. Makes more sense now - how hard it was for Checo to keep that Bull from bucking when pushed.Yup. It's pretty obvious now that the Redbull is on such a knife edge, that it takes a driver of Max's caliber to extract the performance. I think Leclerc could do it, Piastri... maybe. Not Lando. Lewis back in the day too. I think the Mercedes was so easy to drive from 2015/2021 that it didn't keep his skills sharp, and when the car became tough, he lost that edge.
But no top driver wants that second Redbull seat next to Max. There would be no excuses left.
I don't think the RB car is as quick as the McLaren overall. I think Max is able to get every last bit of performance out of it and sometimes that's enough for a pole or a win. I’ve had my old track car dialed in for a better race pace and it’s honestly too hard to handle. Unless you’re mega talented, like the two guys that did it for me. You get too much toe out up front, for example and she’ll tank slap in a heartbeat. They loved it! Had no issues & were fast as shit. Me, not so much. I know that’s nothing compared to a F1 car, but how I imagine it.
Anyway… was watching a race show on YouTube explaining that RB has the same pace as the McLarens ? Give me a break…. They showed the little car chart of Max up there with the McLarens and no Yuki in sight. Both McLaren cars were up there in the pace extrapolation chart. They need to say Max has the pace now with the McLarens. I really wish more commentators & race analyst shows would address it like y’all do.
It’s really hard to get fired up for the Monaco race. It’s a beautiful town & the hype is cool. But the racing… ?. I‘d rather they come to Road America, Watkins Glen or even Sebring ?. They’d at least meet the FIA Grade 1 standards of 12 meters wide. Many other tracks are 12-15 meters across and would do just fine. Barriers can always be upgraded easier with a track that’s already in place. Back to Monaco… where they make an exception to allow 9-10 meters and even 7 meters in some sections. I would tend to think the McLaren and Mercedes have the two fastest cars (hence why they seem to be so consistent week to week), and I'd say RB and Ferrari are around the same pace of vehicle. After that it's really a crapshoot, maybe Williams is the next one, but really it varies week to week.
I have no idea who will get pole this week. Monaco can be a bit unpredictable with exactly who will nail that lap. With there possibly being rain on Saturday it could be a rather messy and entertaining quali. Just hope the race isn't a complete snooze.
At least there is the Indy 500 with a first time rookie on pole to boot. Should be some entertainment there at the very least.
