there's one LE in El Cajon...did anyone pick this bad boy up?
I have now heard of one more person that has gotten theirs in California. I don't know if he's on this forum or not, however.

Well, received a total BS phone call today from my dealer. The owner decided to get involved 3 days before car delivery and terminate the deal my salesman and I have had. Agreed to pay $1500 over MSRP for a RR LE and put 5k down awhile back. Owner called me today and said he canā€™t go through with the deal without raising the additional mark up significantly now that heā€™s researched what other dealers are doing.

A total BS move. I would have a much less bitter taste in my mouth if they did this at the start of the deal, but to do it just a a couple days before delivery and without telling my sales contact.....Iā€™m annoyed to say the least. Not sure what to do at this point, they have committed their first premium model to me at MSRP and willing to help rectify the situation somehow through some kind of add-ons or extended warranty discounts. Iā€™m struggling though, this has put a very bad taste in the scenario and Iā€™m pissed. I have emails, text messages, 5k deposit down, VIN number, etc...

At no point in the process did it seem like this was going to go south until the owner became greedy and claiming it isnā€™t fair to his other sales employees to sell it at the agreed upon cost being that they get commissions off of the larger sales.

I really want to have a Supra, it speaks to me more than any of the used alternatives in the segment, but out of principle Iā€™m having a hard time stomaching the situation.

This is some BS that should never be allowed by manufactures. America is great and worthless in our business values.

Donā€™t stress. I donā€™t think the LE is worth it honestly unless itā€™s at or below MSRP. You could wait it you really like this car.

I just admit however, I was about to drive to the BMW dealer to buy a M2 Competiton with a stick instead. I would say that car would also be a strong consideration.

For sure. There are some optimistic/positive ways to look at the situation for sure. Iā€™m not really mad about getting a premium edition instead of LE, itā€™s the principle of keeping a deal you were promised for me. People just donā€™t treat each other well anymore. Always about the bottom line and not the experience. And thatā€™s a bummer.

Because of this I will save a decent chunk of change and maybe even get my original favorite and preferred color (Nitro Yellow). Unless some insane opportunity pops up, Iā€™m just back to the waiting game on the worst launch of a car Iā€™ve ever seen. But still love the car, or the idea of that car haha.

Toyota Carson said they would get a black LE on August 12. Haven't been in the area to confirm. However, I was passing by Toyota of Orange and they had a white LE in the front of the lot. The sales guy said they are asking for 50k mark up lol.

A lot of them think ALL Supras should be marked up like the Launch Edition trims, but there are some dealers out there selling at MSRP and/or 1k to 2k over MSRP for non-LE trims and such.
