All this time I was under the impression that only the launch editions would get the option of red interior in the US market. Yet I’m seeing 3.0 premiums online with the red interior. I almost feel lied to. I mean I though that was supposed to be the one feature that really set it apart from the rest of the production models. Wheels can be replicated, same with red mirror caps that leaves just a little carbon plaque. Which also can be copied. If our vins have nothing to do with being a LE then what makes it special if not for the interior? The configurator didn’t have an option for red interiors on 3.0 and 3.0 premium. Am I mistaken?

Wtf!! Was bound to happen, but yeah no heads up. Wtf Toyota!

Found the link. Interior is red and no LE plate, no LE rims...
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/789904996/overview/

Bvzine is down for me..

https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification works btw
My VIN shows a lot more details than this VIN. for interior it just says leather, mine says red. No tire, no engine info. Weird...

I’ll be honest I’m a little pissed off. I mean I love the car, but that really disappoints me.

Huh. Never knew that. I though it was just LE’s...kinda takes some of the “special-ness” away from it.

Your LE arent really. Special. Just a plaque couple of cosmetic changes and a number unre

The LEs were nothing but a marketing gimmick. You can easily powder coat the rims and paint or order the mirror caps. and I'm sure someone can easily design fake number plates with signature as VIN has no relation to the number /1500.

Well, there is a list of all LE VINs (US market) provided a while ago. So you could see if a MKV VIN is really a LE. But, yes. The VINs don't necessarily dictate the plaque #.

https://www.supramkv.com/attachments/le-txt.14216/

Not Toyota bashing here, but the only benefit I see from the LEs is that they may be slightly more valuable over other MKVs in the future. And the rights to say, "I was one of the first." Whether if that's worth it is debatable. If the rumors are true about Toyota releasing special colors, possibly adding updated trims and higher HP cars. A LE doesn't quite seem to stack up in my book, but waiting isn't ideal for everyone. Especially when you could get one today.

I was under the same impression about LEs as the OP...

As said, the Launch Edition is a typical Toyota USA marketing gimmick much like the 1997 "Anniversary Edition" A80

But that said, it is disappointing that there isn't much special about it. They should have gone above and beyond and done some exterior badging and options that wouldn't otherwise be available.

If I was Toyota USA, I would have done: CF mirror caps, different wheels, exterior and interior badging, pedal covers and scuff plates, and black seats with colored stitching or a different color other than the black/red offered elsewhere.

You'll likely have better resale value though and it's still noticeable with the black wheels and red mirror caps. So...

Something does not seem right. It is not an option on toyota directly. Keep an eye out for any examples not from dean team volvo. Their website does have all the pictures but it will be interesting if it is just this one dealer that has this. Maybe they swapped the parts?

The car was a Canadian car. The vin says originated from Quebec.

I’m fine with the cosmetic changes. I think they did fair there.

Honestly giving it a 30 HP factory tune or the ability to shut off all the software that makes tracking this thing a trick would have been a better bonus given how they are marketing the car with a free year of NASA.

Maybe red interior is a canadian option then. It will be very interesting to see if this becomes a thing in the US.

EDIT it is a Canadian thing. Www.toyota.ca build a supra, it is selectable. Not sure that is a thing in the US market though, it is not an officially offered option here.

AND I cannot seem to add the premium package.
