The center console area (wireless charging area) is a joke on this car. The cover piece is bulky and cumbersome so it's hard to get your phone in/out. This is also exasperating if your using the USB port or 12v port. If your using both ports, then you might as well forget about using this area at all.

You can't put anything on top of the cover because it is has no stops on the right side of the plastic so everything ends up flying on the passenger floor every time you turn left. I've seen people remove the cover but then the wireless charging tray is also too shallow so everything will still end up on the passenger floor.

I find myself not even using this area at all. What have you guys done with this area? Any mods, tips, tricks?

I simply removed that annoying / useless cover a while ago... Now it's a more useful storage space to hold wallet, change. etc...Also much easier to lay phone in for wireless charging...

Just place your hand under the cover on either side and push up to pop it off...easy peasy

I had a leather eyeglasses case on top, which oddly never moved off. Come to think of it, I left the case in there when I dropped the car off at the dealer 5 months ago...

I can't believe you still don't have your replacement car.

Canadian spec models, which are all Premium trim, exclude the wireless charger for some reason (which I confirmed through Toyota Customer Service). Instead, we’ve got a shallow rectangular rubber tray insert, which is perfect for sunglasses or phone. Might be a good option if you decide to remove the charger.

was wondering for the ppl that dont want to use the wireless charging, can you disable it manually or is it always on?

I think there is the ability to turn it off in the menu.

I removed the wireless charging just by prying it up from the holes where the top portion used to snap in to then you can just unplug the wireless charger from there. I have an Iphone 11 pro max, and I dont know if im the only one, but whenever i place my phone there, it also heats up my phone.

I have an iPhone 11 pro and it does the same thing. I don't like how hot it gets.
