The AMS MKV A90 2020+ Toyota Supra Street Downpipe w/ EPA-verified Ultra High Flow GESI Catalytic Converter

The 4.5″ full mandrel bent downpipe is the best performing and most durable on the market. Power comes in earlier and turbo spool-up is significantly improved. The long gradual transitions within the mandrel bent pipe allows exhaust gasses to maintain velocity without a buildup of back pressure inside of the system. We were able to design a superior product because of our superior engineering. The CAT is new and specific. It has a newly formulated substrate with a specific wash for new vehicle emissions requirements. It is not an off the shelf cat.

I just got this installed on my car yesterday, really wakes the car up tighten up the throttle response even on factory tune.
No exhaust smell or CEL either.

The only problem is that the bangs and pops are so crispy and loud now, they are a bit over the top. Slightly embarrassing
Hello,
I am also planing to install Down Pipe but, cant make decision if i should go for Catted or Catless. yours seems like its Catted. My Question to you is does it Increase Horse Power with DP ? About Bang and Pop i am not sure why its embarrassing? does it sound that bad ? which DP did you buy because there are 2 different DP's $500 and $1000. i need more suggestion from you since you just got it installed.
I really appreciate if you share your thoughts and ideas.
Thank You.

$500 Catless
$1000 Catted

You'll also see comparable gains on Dyno with high flow Catted.
Bang Pop -> subjective to taste

Check out the Database link in my signature for more Downpipes and get more confused :D

Thank You.

Its slight embarrassing, because the car sounds like a assault rifle going off when coming to a stop in my suburban neighborhood. It sounds pretty cool, just out of place.

Keep in mind I also have the full Akrapovic exhaust on my car so it probably wont be as loud with the factory cat back.

You're most likely wont get a CEL with their cat, the one on the AMS is 49 state legal and is design to keep it within factory parameters, but these ECUs are super sensitive so it's not a guarantee.

The power difference between catted and castless is going to be quite small especially if you're not going for a custom tune, these cats are designed to flow up to 800hp.

does it Increase HP without Tune: Yes, because of less flow restriction from the CAT and also smoother transition, but to get full HP/Trq benefit, tune would be needed.

Check out the link and image below of comparison between factory vs AMS (catless image shown)

Running AA catted DP with HKS exhaust. I can definitely confirm that the exhaust burbles/pop/crack on deceleration can get embarassing for the attention it generates... Making me use Sport mode less when daily driving. Not the case when I was just using the DP without catback exhaust.

A proper catted DP should not trigger CEL, whereas a catless definitely will trigger CEL. So far, the exhaust restriction between catless and catted seems tiny unless going past 800hp. Catted will cost significantly more because cat requires precious metals (platinum, rhodium, palladium). Stock tune seems to get about 15-20hp from just a changed DP.

I am getting my MHD dongle next week, I will set the minimal burble RPM to something like 5k so the pops should be pretty minimal just driving around.

Keep us updated if you get CEL before your tune. I’m debating whether to get AMS or AA catted downpipe
