The Supra is my daily ride and a lot of that time is on asphalt-freeways. Does anyone else find the tire-noise irritating? I'm aware some may not mind it and some are used to lots of noise with DPs, etc. Still the low rumble (not the fake active) is taking a toll.

Actually, I,m pleased with how quiet my car is. Perhaps it's your roads. What are the primary road surfaces there? We almost exclusively have asphalt here in NE but I do notice there can be a differernce base don the porosity of the pavement.

well, it’s a sports car. Not sure what your expecting. It’s a 35 series super low profile tire. I mean changing to 40 series tires will help alittle. We are basically riding on rubber bands!!!

I mean it’s not going to sound like a Corolla or Camry?

I paid attention to the changes on various pavements. Most freeways are fine and not objectionable. However, asphalt--specifically old asphalt that has slightly deteriorated-- is the worst. Ironically, when I first took delivery, I hardly noticed it but it seems worse with 600 miles accumulated. Also, I saw several video clips of road tests which commented on the noise as well.

I understand there's more rubber hitting the road with wider tires...I'm rather surprised Toyota didn't add more sound-deadening material to the interior for the price.

Anyway, not really bitching here. I was only wondering if others have noticed. Thanks for your comment.

No, but a coupe hundred $$ of deadening in the floor wouldn't have hurt anything.
