I'm just curious, how difficult do you think retrofitting a HUD would be for a total noob? The extent of modding I've done is bimmercode, unplugging ASD, and switch subs for ghost subs.

I'm loving the blue on the a91 from user pics but currently im thinking about just switching to a premium and then get spoiler, mirrors, painted rims, and possibly a wrap(dont really know much about wraps). I'm thinking it would cost more or less the same in the end and probably easier to do those 3 or 4 things instead of retrofitting a HUD.

The worst part is cutting the dash but even the premium ones are just cut dash so just depends if you think you're a patient person. I just bought all the parts required for 300$ with one outstanding thing being the cable which is either already in the dash or costs 50
So the only part that isn't plug and play is the dash. For what it's worth I'm planning on making a template and I'll put that up for others to use. The only thing I don't know is if removing dash is required, if it is, it will take a whole day but I have the guide from toyota and it's very easy, just time consuming. But you could probably pay toyota to do it for 700-800 in labor. But you'd have to cut the dash still so not sure where that'd fit in the process. Just need to source the hud yourself as that's the expensive part new. That's about what I've learned so far.

But yeah once you plug the hud in the car recognizes it, confirmed in all bmw retrofitting with same parts.

If you didn't want to cut the dash just add 1100 to price and you'd lose the dash stitching.

oh actually that doesn't sound too bad tbh. Totally forgot getting dealer to do the install is also on option. I'll call around and confirm if toyota can indeed do that.

Well thank you for offering your car as a test mule. Now i wonder if you can put in a HUD from one of the M cars so we can get the the tachometer.

Please do! If it does, I'll look at this HUD delete from toyota as a lowkey godsend haha. cus if it already has a HUD wont be worth the trouble, but otherwise:)

Wishing you the best.

Random thought of how toyota might explain the HUD delete:

The a91 is slightly more track focused hence the CF bits and removing the HUD was done in order to get as close to the 50:50 weight distribution as possible while reducing weight. I believe alcantara is usually lighter than the leather they use in cars as well, could be wrong tho.

Eh i doubt it, i mean without spoiler the a91 is only 300 more than premium, so if the paint, seats, and dash are really only 1 off that could explain the price difference without hud.
