Right around there, yes. Prices can move a decent distance, but that's about where I place it +/-
DANG! That'll be like a $25k jump from the Premium version. That's a HUGE jump. For that money, I hope they're making the GRMN super special and what I mean by super special is that it's a competition killer like how the GTR just kills the 911 Turbo S. I don't know what car they'll benchmark for the GRMN but whichever car or cars they benchmark, they'll need to destroy it for that kind of additional asking money.

May I add that whomever conducted the original focus groups that determined that the straight 6 from BMW would be better than an engine designed from Toyota be removed from the GRMN development. Again, what came before doesn't always have to be what sets the standards for what comes next. GTR went from straight 6 to V6. Porsche went from air cooled to water cooled. Porsche added an suv to their line up and people lost their minds. Now it's their best selling vehicle. Bently, Lambo, and even Rolls Royce just added an SUV and Ferrari is rumored to be releasing one soon. I know Lambo used to have an SUV called the "Rambo" Lambo so there's actually precedence for the Lambo SUV but people don't associate those cars brands with suv's and now they all have one and they're the best selling vehicles in their line ups.

Just do it right and make the GRMN bad ass (at a reasonable price) please and you've got my money.

it's going up against the Cayman GT4 primarily and really only has to match its performance for less money, much like it does right now vs the Cayman S/GTS.
Any chance GRMN is the 1400kg Supra?

depends which trim they use as the foundation, but my estimate would place it ~1400kg yes. I base this on the fact that Tada said he could take 100kg+ off the curb weight if given the opportunity.

yeah, afaik it's 2secs faster around the 'Ring (911 Turbo S).

he might mean the GTR Nismo though, which did 7:08 in N-Attack package format (WAY more money than the 911), but the regular Nismo is also slightly faster than the 911 for about $15k less.

Since it won't have creature comforts, it has to be the 3280 Supra

This is exactly what I want the GRMN car to be. The Cayman GT4 is an amazing car, and I think one of many things Toyota has to get right on the GRMN that the GT4 does so well, is the driving experience. The sound, the weight, the handling, the MANUAL. Porsche knows to make a fun car, but at a steep price. If Toyota gets this right, I would gladly pay around 75K-ish.

If not, we'll have a better idea of aftermarket parts for the GR Supra in between the time of waiting.

yes, the 981 GT4 does right about the same lap as the new 982 GTS, which is about the same as the standard A90 (whether they ever lay an official time down or not).

the new 982 GT4 will be faster and is in the target range of the GRMN.

For the money the GTR is a ā€œbargainā€ but it isnā€™t a turbo S killer, not the 991 and certainly not the upcoming 992.

Performance per dollar it is compared to the Porsche.
