Everyone told you to take the exhaust off first. Why would you not take it off, and make your life 100 times simpler? Exhaust ALWAYS comes off first, if aftermarket, can usually just take off the pipe connected to the Downpipe, then the Downpipe.

As far as I remember, you have to “register” the new battery as new or the system can have issues because it’s set to the old battery. Even if it’s the same one, it needs to be told it’s new. Do a forum search and I’m pretty sure this is exactly what others have said.
