Someone email them the link to this thread and the one on Supraforums in that case.
J/k I'm sure Toyota is well aware of these forums but they obviously already know what the enthusiast really want, look at the rumors and how excited the majority are
I'm still waiting for an official press release from Toyota. However, these rumors have me bummed out because I really like the looks of the FT-1 and want to see a new Supra. But if the rumors are true let the Supra badge R.I.P. TOYOTA!!!
^ I agree to a certain degree. There was never a production GT-One for the public to experience like there was with the Supra. I think the key question still is: is this car worthy of a Supra badge? Whatever its called, it should NOT be a mediocre car or name.
That and we're coming up on 4 years since the FT-1 debut. All types of rumors + scenario's about this car have been touched and repeated at this point.
Unless more leaked info. is shared or Toyota gives us something, it may be quite for a while.
^ Yeah I don't know what is going on with Nissan or what they are working on besides the next gen of the GT-R . I actually liked the Nissan IDX concept they came out with a few years ago but they scraped that project as well.
I could see this happening along with many other things. But I don't know; I feel like most have been awaiting the return of the 'Supra' to this point and not really the Celica although a Celica is always welcome to join the line up in my book. Just having a similar car with 2 different names is...
At this pace it seems like late 2019 for the base model and 2020 / 2021+ for the GR version. Then again who knows how much more $$$ they will be asking for this one and how much of a power bump is coming with it.
Just curious: So did Akio ask for feedback from you guys on looks? power output expectations? Any request pushing for a manual transmission? Or was it more like this is what you're getting in a year or 2?
^ Hopefully it all works out for you. But I would think if the base model of the Supra successor comes in at 340 HP+, that leaves room for the 86 to go up at least 40-50 hp. I wouldn't be surprised if this raises the price of the car by a few grand though.
On another note rumors are that the...
^ It might be an actual FJ Cruiser successor concept. I think a lot of people including myself were expecting the Toyota FT-4X to be that only to see it was not.
Haros I agree and like what you've said. Since the start like most I am in hope this is a full Toyota engine. However, due to a lot info. we have been hearing about a BMW engine being borrowed etc. and A70TTR sharing a lot of what seems to match what we can see there's a big chance it may be a...
^ doubt it. Probably a hybrid car of some sort or the next gen Avalon. I'm still skeptical about them showing it in Detroit in 2018. Toyota has been disappointing the followers of this car auto show after auto show, year after year.
^^^ Or it could follow the Lexus LC500 pattern if there aren't anymore delays:
January 2012 - Lexus LF-LC Concept debut at Detroit
(4 Years Later)
January 2016 - Lexus LC500 production debut at Detroit
Spring 2017 - Cars available at dealerships
^ possibly haha but I hope not. All we have to go by is the FT-1 from 2014 and even that was pretty radical and we all know it will be toned down, but how much toned down will it be is the real question...
The new Z4 concept looks like a next generation roadster and I think was like 85%...
