  1. Hybrid Supra Rumors & Chatter / B58 hybrid

    http://www.wheelsmag.com.au/news/1606/toyota-300kw-supra-hybrid-targets-911/
  2. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

While I agree that I'd rather the new Supra be 100% Toyota developed, that would mean that it's still many many years away from reality :( At least if it turns out to be co-developed with BMW as most everybody seems to be saying, we know we're probably within a couple of years of release since...
  3. 2020 Toyota Supra production to begin 2018, by Magna Steyr, Austrian manufacturer

Never heard of Magna Steyr so looked up their wiki and this is what they produce or produced. The Rapide is probably most impressive. Current: Mercedes-Benz G-Class – since 1979 Mini Countryman – since 2010[3] Mini Paceman – since 2012[4] Past: Voiturette (1904) Alpenwagen (1919) Puch...
  4. New Toyota Supra rumored to get Toyota twin turbo V6 engine

For the shared platform which is supposed to use some lightweight materials (carbon?) and be modular? I'm glad to hear the power plant might be Toyota only. Shared platform is ok by me but using another company's engine seems like then you're just slapping your badge on another company's car.
  5. 3rd gen G29 BMW Z4 (2019-202X)

Those cars will also be based on the Toyota-BMW joint platform?
  6. Red Toyota FT-1 Concept at Various Auto Shows & Events

So true. The FR-S concepts (FT86) went through many different looks and the second one had me worried so I'd rather just rest safe knowing that the FT-1 is what the MKV Supra will be based on.
  7. Toyota confirms Supra revival concept for 2016 reveal

Are they even still showing the FT-1 anywhere? I hope not. Such a beautiful concept, it would be sad to see people walk by it and think 'meh'
  8. Toyota FT-1 Supra vs Lexus LC

I remember those. Someone get us even a halfway decent spy photo and let him do the early reveal! :headbang:.
  9. What will the FT-1 be called? Supra trademark revived by Toyota!

Ah I hope not. I'm really dying to hear about another RWD sports car either below or above the 86.
  10. New rumors from C&D: 2020 Supra to get BMW inline six engine / B58 & S58 chat

That's the most disappointing part to me too. The M3/M4 engine is about as good as turbo 6 cylinders get but it's still a BMW (and not a Toyota) engine :( That leaves the question why does someone buy a Supra over an M4 besides looks and price? Hopefully the answer is the better performance...
  11. Toyota FT-1 concept & A90 Supra design dissected

Can't belive I'd ever say these words but the new Camry is looking pretty good. Very aggressive for a hybrid.
  12. MKV Toyota Supra Dimensions / Specs leaked in Best Car Magazine

I sure hope it's modular and scalable. We could finally have a scalable sports car platform that could be used for a future 86? The carbon fiber rumors would put that to rest tho. Either way it could open up doors and I'm sure BMW and Toyota dont want to be locked down to each car's respective...
  13. New Supra and Z4 will share platforms

Toyota supposed to unveil a new Scion at the NY show next month -- its first sedan. I wonder if it'll possibly be RWD on the FR-S platform or maybe even the joint Toyota/BMW platform??
  14. New Supra and Z4 will share platforms

I can't imagine a Scion with a CF platform. Might be too costly?? Unless they really do move the whole brand upmarket I guess. But Toyota sends mixed signals with Scion. One moment it's supposed to be the youth oriented 'experimental brand', the next it's supposed to move upmarket. Thought...
  15. Wish List for the new Supra / Must Have Futures and Options!

I definitely think that's the way to go. The lower model should at least equal the performance of the C7 while the higher model should target supercar territory cars. There will definitely be people who don't want an American car (C7), something that's like driving a video game (GT-R), or...
  16. Article - Akio Toyoda's Sports Car (and FT-1 Supra) Problem

Toyota (Lexus) released the LF-A for the halo image and knowing that they'd lose money on every single one sold, so hopefully even when the MKV Supra declines in sales over the years, the company will still stand by it because it's the Toyota brand's halo car.
  17. Article - Akio Toyoda's Sports Car (and FT-1 Supra) Problem

And now we're starting to see it happen with the FR-S :( Hope this isn't a sign of things to come from Toyota when it comes to the Supra. It will wear a true Toyota badge afterall...
  18. How will the 86 and Supra MKV affect each other?

Toyota seems to be totally confused on what direction they want to take with the Scion brand so maybe their inaction with the FR-S is a result of that. One second they want it to be a youth oriented experimental brand, then there's rumors they want to make it a more into-level premium brand...
  19. Wish List for the new Supra / Must Have Futures and Options!

Good point on the Z3, Z4. Hope Toyota doesn't drag their feet or have second thoughts seeing how 86 sales are taking a dive.
