So SFA has had a population growth of 565,000 in the last 50 years from 2.775M to 3.34M and Munich a city I like and have visited a few times has grown by 309,000 from 1.275 to 1.584 in the same period. Manageable modest growth over 50 years. Here we have gone from 2.477M to 5.316M over the same...
Really, didn't know that. Quite depressing really. More people and the same shit infostructure. Why the hell anyone would want the population of an already straining at the seams city to grow is beyond me. I moved here from Sydney 21 years ago and in that time the population has grown by 1.4...
Yea don't stress. I'm older and am still thankful I dont need to coax and cajole an engine to start then manage the hell out of it until it warms up, lol. Well not on a road car anyway.

It's an engine not a metronome. How hard do people look at their cars, sheez. Things like the a/c cutting in and out can affect idle speed like this as the engine management system can't respond instantly to the changing load. So it goes sub idle for a fraction until the ecu responds.
Engines...
Just spray some spray non messy spray lube on the pivot point such as WD40 or some silicon spray. Should fix a pivot issue and even if it's only temporary at least you know where the noise is coming from.
Here's an excerpt from the owners manual.
The coolant may be overfilled in the coolant reservoir when the vehicle is delivered from the factory. The normal coolant level is achieved by operating the vehicle for a longer period.
So if your car wasn't overfilled slightly from the factory and the...
Everyone keeps talking about this cap/tank residue like it's a fault. It's not necessarily the case. Here's an excerpt from the shop manual.
When driving at high ambient temperatures, the design may cause the pressure relief valve in the reserve tank cap sub-assembly to open slightly and air to...
I have a Raceng shift knob to install as well but was wondering if there was a better way to remove the stock knob assy. I'm not a huge fan of just yanking stuff off with brute force. To anyone thats done the job would it be feasible to cut the leather boot as shown in the excellent How to post...
I'm wondering if in really cold weather if that's something you need to deal with the higher CCA battery might be an advantage. LiPo batteries don't like cold weather big time.
Phil
Reading plugs on a road engine is fraught with danger . If the car spends a lot of time in urban crawl and or does a lot of cold starts for short trips to work etc then it's pretty pointless and won't tell you much unless there is a massive issue going on.

The LS version is for Limited Slip diffs. I'm suspecting it's for the old/original style LSD's to prevent the chatter some used to have and speced an oil additive in addition to the base oil. I'd go with the std 75w90 for the Supra style electronically controlled diff but I'm open to other views...
Yea not many cities in the world better to live in than Sydney, if you are fairly affluent and can afford to live near the harbour or waterways. Weather is 1 million % better than Melbourne where I'm currently freezing my arse off in our now 8 month long winters. Oh for those lovely sunny 18...
If you don't want to use the spacers why not use the BMW friction shims ( BMW call them rings) p/n 34 10 6 884 839 per the BMW SIB 34 05 17 to correct the issue? They look less than a mmm thick.
They look in the SIB image a bit like the industrial diamond dust coated drive shims/washers used...
Yea good point. On a gas turbine engine we have variable VSV's and bleed valves to control the compressor stalls. Slam the thrust levers shut like you do on touchdown and the Bleed valves open to prevent decel stalls. Same at top of decent when the thrust comes back to idle. A turbo is pretty...
Well if that is the strategy ( and I don't know if it is or not, but I'd be interested to know) it would be a bit annoying for sure. It seems the B58 system doesn't use a recirc or blow off valve to dump manifold pressure so is pulsing the throttle how they dump pressure if the throttle is...
