For those interested in the engineering stuff I recently decided to make up some Titanium special bolts to replace the standard steel ones on a motorcycle project of mine. I'm no expert with the machinery so it was as much about the learning as anything else. One of the benefits of Ti hardware...
Sorry I'll re contextualise. The sides of the highways and byways are littered with Supra Mk5 manuals with destroyed clutches on stock power. If you believe the internet that is.

I'm trying to understand why this is an issue. Seems a pretty lame condition to me but then again I've spent 40 years getting high performance big twin motorcycles engines with race exhaust systems started. This is "handbag" stuff to me, lol. As for neighbours well either they like a big twin...
Depending on several things you can reshape CF to a degree. It requires a method to pull it into the desired position then have at it with a heat gun. Of course it's only an adjustment technique not anything else. On race bikes it was often quite easy. if you could lever the panels into a...
very hard to say but a few thoughts. It sounds like it could be an hydraulic lifter ( or lash adjuster in some cases) that has bled down overnight. Typically these will make this sound until they refill via engine oil pressure and will take 2 or 3 minutes usually depending on how bad the bleed...
True, but it's worth checking considering it's failed very early. These things typically last decades not a few years so unless you subscribe to a faulty unit then something else is in play.

Or one of the components driven off the serpentine belt has an issue creating high torque on the belt and the balancer coupling is the weakest link.

A major issue you will have with this welding type is distortion. It's an issue with TIG as well but TIG due to the shielding gas that helps with heat control is the best at controlling it. The distortion means that at mock up stage where everything fits on a tack welded together piece by the...
Ok cool I've not had exposer to it before only stick, mig and tig. I went looking for info and this video seems good esp from 4:55 with regards to machine electrical inputs and outputs V spatter.
