  1. No, I do not want to street race…

Ha ha ha. Great story. :) I got harassed by a guy in a new Ferrari. We hit short bursts of 100mph+ on the highway. Like OLD guy... 70s-ish and he had the top down and his old wife too (she was laughing) in the passenger seat. Me... 55 at the time. I just smiled and waved once traffic picked...

  4. Why I needed a master brake cylinder brace...

Agreed. Given the only thing I've changed were the "upgrade" to ceramic pads, I'm leaning toward that also. And agreed, the stock pads were in my caliper REALLY good. I think we ended up pulling the caliper off to get to the pads. Thanks for your input!
  5. Why I needed a master brake cylinder brace...

I can almost feel it through the brake pedal. BUT I will give my seat a look!!
  6. Why I needed a master brake cylinder brace...

So just got this today from MAP. About $125 with tax and shipping to Norcal. Install was pretty easy, maybe 30 minutes tops. But you WILL need a U-clip lever tool and torx socket... and I think a 13mm and 17mm wrench for the adjuster. Did it cure my rattle/clunk? No. I still hear a slight clunk...
  7. Why I needed a master brake cylinder brace...

Thanks for your post. I am giving this a try too. My 2022 started getting a weird clunk on braking. I chalked it up to pad movement as I recently went to ceramics. Maddening to some degree, but we live with it if we know what it is. BUT your post. Verus and Torque Solutions make a brace for...
  8. Cross traffic allert malfunction

Or grab a CTEK charger and let it sit overnight? :) BMW Batteries do last a little while. My 2015 435i is still on the original battery and it's got 90k miles.
  9. 2026 Final Edition MT Street/Track Build

Welcome! I'm a former Miata guy who went to the BMW side. Since the Supra is a BMW, consider joining up with the BMW CCA. They constantly sponsor track days, autocrosses, dinners, shows, etc. A lot of knowledge sharing at every get together. Also find a local BMW indy shop for services or...
  10. Safety Steering Vibration Feedback and Lane Assist:

Tire wear. I noticed i can feel the lane assist vibrations more if the tires are newer. As the tires have aged, I notice the feedback less. My assumption, worn tires transmit more road noise and vibration. To test this theory, try a road with super smooth roads and one rough as hell. And I...
  11. Turning Right - Steering Judder/Back and Forth movement?

Some of the race guys may chime in too but my thoughts having spent some time under BMWs for the last 25 years. :) Do you get similar behavior turning left? At 28k miles, there isn't too much that can be worn out on the car yet. What I have noticed is that the Supra and other BMWs since...
  12. Turning Right - Steering Judder/Back and Forth movement?

So, lowered? All stock? Miles on car. Tires worn? :)
  13. Rear Axle Diff Lock Reduced

Consider going to a BMW independent shop. They WILL know more about your Toyota Supra than Toyota will. 2 aftermarket steering wheels on/off, 3 alignments, and still no lights or issues.
  14. Coolant smell / leaky reservoir cap?

Yep. BMWs will tend to vent coolant pressure. If you did a pressure test and not losing coolant you are fine. If you are super worried still, get fluorescent dye and add it. Under a UV or blacklight you can see any leaks.
  15. HKS clunky springs issue

Best guess, sway bar bushing. The nose of the car lifting is from the suspension geometry tilting the wheels. At that point, my theory is that it also puts tension on the sway bar. Haven't been under the Supra lately but if you can squirt water onto/into the sway bar mounts and the sound...
  16. Oil and coolant level concerns

I'm leaning toward the oil filter housing. The oil stand/housing if I recall right carries coolant AND oil. It's a pretty common failure point on the BMW side. Generally most start to get leaky around 75k-ish. On the Supra, the oil stand sits toward the back of the motor, driver's side. It holds...
  17. Weird knocking sound coming from under hood that I'm unable to pinpoint

Sounds like something is not in alignment. Basically it creaks like that because it's supposed to be like this... __ but is aligned like this /\ So the creak is the tension on the hinges. To test, try wd-40 or triflow on the hinge. If it quiets down, gonna say the back of the hood to hinge...
  18. How to restore the color back on worn out seat bolsters

Get some blue painters tape, mask off the area. Amazon sells leather repair dyes. Apply using a small paint brush. Wipe off excess. Let sit for a day / overnight. Check with dry cloth. If it doesn't wipe off, success. Remove painters tape. Done.
  19. Aftermarket steering wheel brands

Rexpeed also is good - price and quality. Out of Taiwan but ships fast by DHL. They also use BMW cores.
  20. Key Fob Lock Button Sometimes Works

Sometimes the internals break. My Supra is a CPO and one of the remotes had a dead unlock button. I took it apart and noticed the contact on the circuit board button wouldn't compress anymore.
