The plastic pump mainly affects 2020 cars with some 2021s. So go 2022 if this is a concern, like on a used car lot. Or buy the extended warranty for a 2020/2021 model or ask a private seller of a 2020/21 if the oil pump was ever replaced.

Also consider test driving a BMW Z4 or 2 3 or 4 series BMW also. Same transmission from what I recall. (Gearing is different, but feel will be the same).

Get a cardboard box, string, pencil, pin. Measure 175mm of string, tie to pencil. Put pin in middle of box. Tie pencil to pin. Draw perfect circle with pencil. Cut out shape. Should be 350mm. Place over steering wheel. :D

I'm a big fan of the BMW Car Club of America. Your track days all get instructors and it's got a pretty vibrant auto-x program. Look up your local chapter. The people you meet will be local vendors, race car drivers, etc. The Supra has gotten pretty positive support from its BMW cousins!
