Fuck.
I would probably not track a nice new car that's under warranty and in my position, financed. I would get some spec miata or e30 that's "slow" and beat to shit already.
Yes to stock cams but the head had porting done and has upgraded valves/springs.
Also in the above video, anyone surprised he put the stock coils back in? I was assuming he'd upgrade to some motorsport spec.
As a long-time MHD user on the n54 platform, I'd recommend the JB4 for the Zupra. MHD had years on the n54/n55 platforms to build up it's feature set to be competitive but the on-the-fly map switching, easy meth integration, and its existing marketshare in the m240i market make it a better...
Interested, do you have links to support this? We ran into the same issue on n54/n55. Seems like the big numbers being posted are on race fuel/e50. Would be most interested in hard datalogs to find the limits of stock fuel system.
Maybe a tiny bit off-topic on the torque question as I haven't driven a new Supra much less one with a Pure turbo, but the reliability and reputation of the company Pure Turbos is basically beyond reproach in the 335i community. They do leave a bit of power on the table with a slightly more...
Hopefully Gazoo Racing comes through and not Dinan. As a BMW enthusiast, Dinan is roughly triple the price of any other mod of similar quality. It's absurd.
Depends on the springs/valves in the cyl head. N55 floats a valve at 74-7800 but S55 revs out to 8k and they're very very similar designs. I'm revving my n54 past the factory redline to 7.5k but it's known that over 8192 it's DME limited since that's the maximum value for the addressable space...
Hopefully it's simply a plug issue and not an overall ignition issue. n54's seem to get a lot of spark blowout above 23 psi and us bigger power guys convert to mercury marine coils or audi motorsport coils for stronger spark.
750+whp s55 cars run the stock heat exchanger. Switching from the oe w2a system to gods-forbid a cheap ebay intercooler will be a performance downgrade. For the upgraded w2a heat exchangers from companies like VRSF or CSF, there doesn't seem to be a need for short-burst activity like drag racing...
I have friends local to me that work at the Toyota dealership where 3 Supras were delivered yesterday and overhead they're pricing gouging at 85 and 90k total cost. One customer didn't even flinch at the new price, agreed, and then drove it off the lot.
