I'm no sound expert but I was happy with the improvements. Reduced rattle, could feel the air coming out of the ports that was previously trapped in the stock box.

Yea I tried that, feels like I'm gonna pull the shifter assembly out rather than just the knob. You didn't have to release the black piece shown in my picture at all?

For those that have replaced the knob - how did you remove it? I got the boot off easily enough but can't get the knob to come off. Looks like the front has a little split, tried wedging a flathead in there to release the top with no luck. I figured with some of the problems reported the knob...
