I have not ran into any issues on my B48, which, from what I’ve read, has more heating issues than it’s big brother. When auto crossing/tracking/competitive driving, just remove the plate prior.
Also, not sure what other options there are. I sure as hell did not let them drill holes in my new...
Super down! I would love to see some properly modded A90s in-person.
First week of ownership, I chatted with several A90/J29 owners. Haven’t see another one in person since (4 months later)….
Pretty standard question. Short answer— a base model 3.0 without mods would of costed almost the same. For me, $$$ was not the deciding factor, though it was important.
Long answer— after test driving them both, the 3.0 felt like a handful for a daily driver. Almost like a muscle car or...
Looks about right— the unfortunate part of the badass raked stance the H&R springs provide…
My fronts are near-perfect for what it is. I attached a picture of my wheel gap in the rear (18x11 +34 wrapped in 275/40/18 PSS) as a reference.
My brand new 2022 2.0 does this as well; windows on both driver & passenger-sides are just barely visible after auto-roll down.
I feel like it has something to do with the auto-roll (down & up) when opening/closing the doors.
Armaspeed intake (woven carbon fiber option)
1. Initial impression
- fast shipping
- came with a couple goodies including a carabiner & vinyl decal
- packaging, something I'm a sucker for, was top notch!
- quality of the carbon fiber appears to be very nice, with weaves being consistent & not...
They’re quite a bit stiffer than stock 2.0 springs & overall significantly more confidence-inspiring. Comfortable to me, but I’ve only owned “rough-riding” vehicles thus far.
Sometimes I scrape backing out of my steep driveway, but I have a lip.
Once the lowering springs eat up my OEM dampers...
You will probably rub.
Regarding driving feel— if you get correctly sized tires for a 10.5” wheel, you will have more oversteer.
I personally like the idea of going squared on my daily driven 2.0, if that means anything.
Fronts: 18x10 +25 5x112 (Face 4)
Rears: 18x11 +34 5x112 (Face 5)
Currently wrapped in Supra 2.0 OEM rubber… I will most likely bump up a centimeter wider on each corner on the next set.
Greatly appreciated! It is interesting because I was pretty close to installing an Edelbrock, but decided against it due to daily driver constraints amongst other things.
I never made a build thread for my two previous vehicles, something I now regret. With the lack of B48-equipped J29 posts, I figured now would be a good time to start.
Goals:
⊛ achieve the daily beater I always wanted out of my previous car (2018 86 GT)
⊛ learn to drive a fast (to me) car as...
I definitely prefer a full leather-wrapped wheel (hopefully an option if I decide to go with Whirl).
That is a good point regarding the vibration, though I think most people would be fine without it.
