  1. Toyota Supra Racing Version Thread

I own a 2015 BRZ and have never used my back seats. The fact that MKV is a liftback also makes it more usable for me than traditional trunk as well.
  2. Why I'm NOT Hyped About The New Toyota Supra

People are getting 400HP out of the lawnmower engine in the 86 platform. IF a factory turbo 4 is offered with a manual I can see that being a popular option for modders. It should be lighter, and even with the cost of mods, cheaper than the turbo I6 models.
  3. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

It would be interesting to find out what dates those two pics were taken as that would let us know if they're different phases of development (earlier vs current) or possibly different trim level cars being tested together.
  4. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

Is it me or does the one from post 161 look like it has different tailights?
  5. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

It's all starting to make sense now if I'm reading in between the lines A70 is carefully drawing. There's no work being done on a GT86 successor. Most current owners want more power and the take rate for manuals is very high (actually close to 70% in the BRZ). Not wanting to lose those current...
  6. Forbes Article States 3.0 I-6 w/ 360 Horsepower, Spring '19, $60k

Then please good sir, go back and tell your marketing buddies they better come out with a more powerful GT86 for the purists, lol and thank you. Celica GT-Four FTW
  7. Toyota Supra finally spied testing Stateside!

I'm really hoping this means they trolled us and at least one trim has a manual lol
  8. MKV Toyota Supra Dimensions / Specs leaked in Best Car Magazine

I love everything about my BRZ except the engine and it's not a liftback so I'm cool with this.
  9. MKV Supra in Detail: Models, Engines, Transmission, Colors, Interiors, Wheels

There's been a lot of gnashing of teeth over the BMW "sourced" engine. I think a lot can be extrapolated from how Toyota handled the GT86 project with Subaru. They didn't just drag and drop whatever 2.0L NA engine Subaru had laying around in the parts bin. They reworked that engine and were able...
  10. Toyota Supra to be launched in 2019 under Gazoo performance brand GR / GRMN related topics

I'm with you. Lack of a manual is a deal breaker for me. Toyota will lose out on a lot of potential customers without one. I believe the take rate for manuals on the 86 platform was nearly 50%. I'm starting to lose faith in the direction this project is headed. Hopefully once the reveal happens...
  11. Should Toyota Supra keep FT-1 2+2 configuration? Or lose backseats?

Except with the Z4 you'll supposedly be able to get a manual, haha
  12. Toyota confirmed 3 sports car lineup: Toyota exec wants to bring back Celica, MR2

A Celica GT-Four/All-Trac revival would fit more in line with the Subaru partnership as they were always lukewarm on the idea of having a RWD sportscar in their line up. It took a lot of convincing to get them on board with the 86 project. A turbo charged AWD coupe would be right at home as a...
  13. Toyota confirmed 3 sports car lineup: Toyota exec wants to bring back Celica, MR2

I own a brz and if the new supra doesn't come with a manual transmission I will be holding on to my car for a very long time. All indications are that both cars are roughly the same size so I don't really see where they can go with the GT86. All of the complaints are about mediocre power but...
  14. Interview Questions for Detroit from the Fans

Did you guys get a chance to ask any of our questions? If not thanks for trying anyway. Wish I could have been there.
  15. The Pricing Thread + Potential US Tariffs Impact

Those prices are spot on where I think they should be but I have a feeling they're going to price gouge us by about $5 - $10k on both of those brackets.
  16. The Brembo brakes to go on the Supra

I highly doubt they'd introduce a base Supra with less HP than the 205hp GT86. Even IF there is a turbo 4 cyl, I'm guessing 250hp at the least to distance itself from the little brother.
  17. Interview Questions for Detroit from the Fans

Will an "auto-manual" transmission similar to the GR HV sports concept eventually make it into the Supra as an option?
  18. Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ

I don't care about the exterior which is pure concept car wackiness that would get toned way down for production. I'm mostly interested in the transmission. I actually like the idea if they could mate it to a DCT, that wasn't sequential, would allow me to select any gear I want, and skip gears...
  19. 2020 Supra Transmission Chat - Manual, Dual Clutch, or Auto?

I've been asking for years why no one has mated a DCT to a H gate shifter and now Toyota is going down that road. If the Supra's going to be "Auto" only hopefully something like the HV Sport auto-manual is an option. My left leg will be confused but at least my right arm will be occupied.
