6 port head compared to the 2 port head of the 2020's. Im sure tuning was involved too. But the compression was dropped, and why a fully tuned e50 2020 makes more power then a fully tuned 21+, the extra compression.
6 port though is needed on big HP cars.

I would say yes, since most the official testing shows the difference between a 2020 and 2021+ is around a tenth or 2 depending on the source. 12.3 to a 12.2-12.1, The best Z if i remember right was a 12.6.
So yeah a 2020 should be able to hang with a Z stock for stock.
