I'm kinda sadden by this news too. Not sure how to take it and quite confused tbh. I don't think the Z4 was even trying to be a 'race' car. But if that feels more aggressive than the Supra, what does it say about the Supra?
I said this before in one of the threads, where I questioned if we should be taking what we see in the videos, etc of the interior (including the tachometer reading) for verbatim. If Toyota was confident in the interior they would have shown it to us. This new 'info' further proves my point...
I love the tac. I was hoping that the car would come with a giant rev tachometer and a digital speed display (just like the 86) and it has. Also, I am already falling in love with the orange colour.
I feel like the interior for these pre-production/test models is just a standard slap on BMW spec. I don't think it represents the final at all. Judging from how the exterior design went and how it closely resembles the FT-1, I can only assume that the form of the interior would be quite similar...
One thing that Tada mentioned was "if the torque goes up the transmission should be able to handle it with the correct amount of plates." I think a bonus challenge for Toyota (not that it's impossible) is that they would want to engineer the transmission to handle the extra power that they have...
The seats don't look the same even though the bolstering looks similar. Also, notice that the center console looks different compared to the Z4 - a result of the FT-1 type support on the driver side. I feel the interior might look different but feel the same since the parts all "feel" BMW.
Well, I am excited that the car is coming out, but I do feel like this is dragging out quite a bit now. Maybe like you said, we will be blind sighted by a sudden torrent of info. But I just want something to go on lol.
@A70TTR Sorry if I am asking the same question, but based on your sources the possibility of a manual down the road is nil? I recall Tada san kind of/ sort of implying that a manual may be possible just not right now.
"Too many "new" Canadians on this thread....follow the rest of the sheep." Nice comeback. I guess that's the best you got with all that salt your consuming. It's ok, keep whining. Tell us sheep when your done.
@PerformanceSound Learn to show some respect. A70TTR doesn't need to be sharing this stuff with us, but he did. Atleast appreciate the effort that these guys go through to bring the forum the latest and greatest regardless of it being a fact or whatever.
Honestly, no one else is stressing out...
The Z4 revealed, with the specs we more or less suspected/knew.

Sick find Ryley. There seems to be a decent amount of space around the engine - always good I think for maintenance or upgrades. Definitely looks like the B58. I can see that the airbox and components to the left of the engine are different.
