It's interesting that he talks about how development and care isn't really done with modern manual transmissions anymore but with the new MT Supra, we've seen how this isn't really the case and Toyota actually did put a lot of thought and tuning into the manual setup (even being non-Toyota parts...
Thanks for linking to that Puppers. I see how the knob is just compression fit so makes sense how it could fly off. The manual VAG cars I've had usually have the shift knob held on in a similar way but also have a one time use retaining clip that keep them from flying off in this kind of...
LOL sorry to make you go into vivid detail about that. Do you have a picture of where the failure is and the knob is separating or do you just pop it back in?
This thread is kind of confusing. It sounds like multiple issues being reported. Is the shift knob detaching from the shift lever during normal driving?
I was curious and lifted up the shift boot and the knob and lever are all one solid piece from what I can see.
CU later seems to photograph more "flat" than the color really is in person and is incredibly more interesting and dynamic than the typical flat concrete gray type colors. Definitely don't see this color being "played out" anytime soon.
Love the mods and still rocking the temp tag lol. My regular tag just came in a few days ago.
Kinetic looks like a nice shop, they're not far from me I'll have to swing by and check them out.
Meh, there's a lot of better reviews out there. They didn't even research the name of the paint color so they just seem dumb trashing on it for like 2 minutes.
First quote I got was like $4500 for the front clip + mirrors  I'll definitely be shopping around or just raw dog the paint job and do a bumper respray down the road. Curious if anyone else has any PPF suggestions for the MD/DC area.
The auto rev match is pretty decent for what it is but one of my favorite things about driving a manual is doing the rev matching myself so I turned the auto rev match off immediately and don't plan on using it unless maybe I was on some super long road trip but honestly I don't even think I...
Just picked mine up yesterday. Absolutely love everything about the transmission and clutch feel and no complaints just yet. One of my only gripes so far is having to keep disabling the auto stop/start which is just silly to have on a manual transmission.
Posted this in another thread, but I found that kind of smacking the shift lever over directly to the left with your palm and a bit of force and then up like normal gets it into reverse just fine. It does take a little more force than I thought it would but just practice a couple times and it's...
I found that if you kind of smack the shift knob over to the left with a bit of force and then up into reverse like normal it's not too bad. It definitely takes a bit of force (more so than I initially thought) but once you do it a few times it's kind of second nature. I actually like that it...
Got to drive my A91-MT home from the dealer through horrible traffic and rain yesterday. I will say, I'm extremely happy so far with the feel of the clutch and transmission. I would agree with the consensus that everything has a good mechanical but still smooth and precise feel to it. The weight...
