So based on F80 and G80 manual figures, (g80 is a reinforced version of the f8x box) both have been doing over 650 wheel on stock clutches. Luckily it is a lot easier and cheaper to upgrade clutches then build an autoI’m waiting for mods and seeing how the trans holds power lol
Impressive!!!!!! I'd almost consider not even changing it. Deep, good resonance, no pops, totally diggin itFor anyone interested, here's the sound of a cold start on a 2023 STOCK 3.0 Manual Supra EU/UK whatever spec.
(I put it on YT because the forum kept saying the file wasn't uploading so I gave up).
98 miles on the clock, driven it twice.
No pops and bangs (yet), I am running it in as per handbook only hitting 4.5k rpm and changing gears frequently without maintaining constant speeds to ensure hopefully it all beds in nicely.
Absolutely glorious sounds around 3.5k - 4k rpm changing gears (I'm not very knowledgeable about engines) but sounds like a blowoff turbo-ish sound, very cool.
Gearbox very notchy but already improved from first drive.
I agree with another dude that wrote here that there's a weird sort of jerk
Changing 1st to 2nd but only if it's at slow speeds it seems, but very short and not a big issue at all for now.
There's definitely a "surge" or whatever they call it "torque by gear" feeling around 3rd gear around 3.5k where it really goes into hyperspace.

Do you have a picture of the engine bay? I'm curious to see if the non-A91's get the same strut bar, just in different colors. For anyone interested, here's the sound of a cold start on a 2023 STOCK 3.0 Manual Supra EU/UK whatever spec.

Hi - sure let me get back to you on this with some photos next time I go out.Do you have a picture of the engine bay? I'm curious to see if the non-A91's get the same strut bar, just in different colors.
Just got back home from a business trip. They never sent me a tracking # but it has arrived. Probably install it over the weekend.Nice, keep us posted on how long it takes to get to you. I’m probably gonna pull the trigger on it here soon.

I'm just shy over 450 miles and this was my impression on it. I typically track my cars, but still breaking this in. As a former 2022 Supra owner, these are my impressions with the manual. It’s excellent.Hi all,
Ok so, for anyone looking to get a '23 manual, I just did shy of 300 miles in it so far, and wanted to share my initial thoughts.
DISCLAIMERS: I am not a pro driver or a particularly "good driver" I would consider myself average.
Let's go by topics:
REV MATCH:
First car I ever had that has rev match, very strange to get used to.
What I can definitely confirm is, if you change gears slowly, it doesn't work properly and gets confused, but if you shift fast, the rev match on downshifts is sublime.
However, for some reason, 4th to 3rd gear always seems to struggle to go in with the rev match, no idea why.
Upshifting: going 1st to 2nd sucks, again, might be my fault, but it's just juttery and rough so I'm trying to learn what's the best revs/way to do it smoothe AF.
GEAR LEVER POSITION/SHIFTING
The volume/temperature knob CAN get in the way if you shift fast/have a spirited drive, so definitely annoying. I had to slightly change the position of my hand when going into 5th to reduce chances of smashing my knucke into it, not great.
You can NOT have any type of drink/bittle in the cupholder, as your elbow WILL hit it. It was designed for the AUTO clearly. Cupholder becomes a key holder, period.
The shifter itself is very small, almost too small, and very smoothe, almost slippery.
The changes are very notchy, almost a bit too much for my liking. Good luck getting it in reverse, it's an experience. I am starting to get it but usually takes at least 2-3 attempts. (Ridiculous!)
Overall, it's cool, and I hope this manual will keep resale value more than the auto, but, tbh sometimes I wish I just got the auto (can't believe I'm saying that, maybe I am getting old and lazy).
The auto rev match is pretty decent for what it is but one of my favorite things about driving a manual is doing the rev matching myself so I turned the auto rev match off immediately and don't plan on using it unless maybe I was on some super long road trip but honestly I don't even think I would use it then. It's great to have the option though if you want it.Hi all,

Hey @robotvoice thank you so much for sharing! I'm definitely gonna experiment the 1st to 2nd gear method that you suggested. The auto rev match is pretty decent for what it is but one of my favorite things about driving a manual is doing the rev matching myself so I turned the auto rev match off immediately and don't plan on using it unless maybe I was on some super long road trip but honestly I don't even think I would use it then. Getting into reverse was interesting the first few times but once you dial in the amount of force to smack the lever over to the left and up, it becomes second nature and is really no big deal. I'm sure it will get even better feeling with more miles on the car.
It's a little tricky getting a smooth first to second shift but I found if you rev it up a little higher than you normally would in first (if you shift around 3k RPM in first normally try shifting at 3.5k RPM instead), then take your time getting into second, it helps smooth things out. Having driven Subarus for many years, the first to second shift is WAY worse in those than the Supra so just take your time and it will be no big deal.
I did a couple spirited drives recently and didn't have any issues where my hand was hitting the climate controls or any parts of the dash, even when shifting pretty quick. I'm on the smaller side so it's possible someone with larger hands could maybe have an issue. Maybe a shorter throw shifter could help if you wind up being one of those people who does hit their hands on the console when shifting.
I love the pedal position in this car and heel-toe is an absolute breeze compared to some other cars I've had. The whole shifting experience is definitely not s2000 levels of awesome but honestly it's very, very good in a lot of aspects and has already exceeded my expectations and am super happy I took the plunge into this car.
