I don't think anyone should be shocked about the MT supra's being sold in great numbers, considering there was 3 model years prior that were auto only, there was a lot of pent up demand. I would say that it'll likely stay relatively high for the next year but likely not at this same level...
Maybe a bit, they are adding more road courses and even did a street course a few weeks ago. I have a hard time watching Nascar when it's just speedway/ovals. I don't enjoy it with Indy Car either. Just seems rather boring to me, even though I know it's very difficult to win.
while the video you posted is positive in of itself, when you start to drive it back to back with the competition it’s less so.
It is exactly why when friends and family go car shopping I tell them to test drive at least 4-5 vehicles before making a decision and ideally on the same day. When...
100%, and I'm fine if someone decides to buy one. I'm not one to judge someone else's decision, I know we all have our own feelings, wants, and needs. I'm glad it exists, I'm just personally disappointed in where BMW took this generation.
It's not the only vehicle I've been disappointed in...
I don't have any hate for the new M2, I think most of the people who criticize this new M2 isn't because of some hatred to it, it's the disappointment we feel in what direction BMW took it in.
Some of that is likely cost cutting on BMW part (using the same platform as the M3/4, engine...
So basically he doesn't want to criticize any cars anymore because he sees the end is near. He prefers this new M2 to his old one, but doesn't seem to expand on why.
I'm struggling to really look at that "review" as a positive, or negative, it was more about how he doesn't like to critique...
Saying that the M2 is one of their lightest offerings is like the best looking pig at the farm, it's still just a pig. The fact that the Supra is more than 400 lbs lighter than the M2 to me is just too big of a stretch.
So your Miata is just a bit over 2,300 lbs, the M2 is 1,500 lbs heavier or...
Mostly two things, safety requirements/features and growing size of vehicles. There are other things like just regular features or luxury features expanding (think ventilated seats ,massaging seats, 100 speakers, etc), more emissions stuff, larger rim sizes mean heavier wheels, heavier vehicles...
Watched the Indy Race yesterday and noticed the NASCAR race on the same track shortly after, so recorded it for a Sunday snack. Had no idea the Supra was a NASCAR. LOL. Always fun watching these big cars on road track, especially when there is weather.
My favourite generation of BMW 3 series by far. Definitely not the worst choice of car to learn stick shift on and a nice change of pace from the Supra.
Now that I see all premium has ethanol, does that mean the recommendation for premium in things like snowblowers, lawnmowers, off road vehicles, etc can go back to regular? I thought the whole requirement for 91 premium in those was to avoid ethanol?
Here in NB there was a bit of a issue a few...
I don't even have my Supra yet, but as an accountant I plan everything out including car purchases. I have a car bucket list and the next thing that I think will be tackled is either muscle car (which would mean Mustang as there aren't any other new ones left) or grand tourer (Jag F-Type, Lexus...
As you noted above, there is quite a bit of difference between the two. But I think there is more than just pure lap times that makes one more appealing than the other.
Here's some examples, Indy has 3 different types of tracks, oval, track, street, where as F1 only has two types, track and...
I skimmed that to see Supra, Toyota/BMW, even auto industry, didn’t see it mentioned. I’m not diving down your rabbit hole of trying to tie TV sales to the manual Supra development and sale. As I said, enjoy your own reality and I’ll be over here living in mine.
Okay bud, I guess you can believe whatever conspiracy you want, it’s the in thing to do in society nowadays. I’ll continue to believe that BMW dictated that they would not foot the bill for a manual they had no intention of using, thus making the decision for Toyota difficult on if they wanted...
You are right, they chose to sell it automatic only, being ridiculed constantly for 3 years, having the car community mostly disappointed in the “new” Supra. All the master plan to sell more automatics. You really believe this?
I don’t think anyone is denying these issues, what we are denying is the level of outrage you seem to have for things that majority of people who bought the Supra call minor. If these things affect your ability to enjoy such an amazing car, you might want to move on to something that can...
This is a non-issue for me. In my cars I set the temperature and leave it there year round. For my wife it goes up and down constantly so she'd be a bit more annoyed having to fiddle with two nobs (that's not dirty sounding at all).
Are there faults with the Supra, heck yes. Is it missing...
