@Rexpeed Do you have any input you can add? Vendor said they're waiting on your response so I thought I should tag you here for a little direct interaction.
If my $500 purchase for tint is *really* poorly done & fades/bubbles within 5 years (nevermind 26+) and both the company that applied it and the company that manufactures the film both go tits up, it would still be a worthwhile investment. (Realistically though, if that were to happen, I'd have...
Good to know there are at least some examples out there without defects. I'll give the vendor a chance to make it right before I escalate and/or start tossing people under busses. Thanks for the replies!
Decided to go ahead and get the Rexpeed V1 spoiler. Not sure what's considered normal in terms of carbon fiber flaws but this seems pretty eye catching (it's not a subtle flaw once placed on the car) and wanted to get some opinions.
Is this typical of the Rexpeed spoilers...
Dynojet is a chassis dyno, measuring power at the wheels so whp is implied. The line you're seeing isn't saying that it's power at the engine but that the Max Power is achieved "at Engine RPM" 5,160.
Front: 9 wide & 32 offset
Rear: 10 wide & 40 offset
I like to use willtheyfit.com (links below) for easy comparisons, gives a nice visual plus you can play with tire sizes and see speedo differences etc.
WillTheyFit: Front Wheels/Tires
WillTheyFit: Rear Wheels/Tires
Dyno: before/after catless DP on stock tune
Looks like catless is good for ~20whp without tune
No threat of it leaning out, it's smart enough.
Could always look at JB4 too until someone cracks this new ecu security.
You're so far north, is it really still SoCal? :p ....saw Bob Sully at SiV and he made out like I was a traitor, heh. Loved *loved* my Mk2, but I got over the BMW-ness of the MkV really quickly.
Nice color - too bad they didn't offer SDR
This has my interest piqued for sure.
With Ecutek, Visconti has done a pretty good job at getting the pedal response livable/predictable, but I still have to pull back as I accelerate through 30mph to avoid a surge of power (when driving mild to moderately aggressive) which has me hesitant to...
I love seeing stuff like this. Wish I had a way to compare my current map to the stock map to see what gets changed...I often feel at a loss for how to communicate what I feel to my tuner, and a better understanding would go a long way. These kinds of insights are fantastic, thanks for sharing...
I think we're ultimately saying the same thing...without published aerodynamic figures (Cd & frontal area) there's no way to avoid estimating those profile settings. What I mean by 'hacking', logging while spinning the rollers which skips chassis aero drag altogether and then trying to tweak...
I've seen claims form a FocusRS tuner that vdyno is grossly inaccurate because they used their dyno run as the log source, and it wasn't even close to what the dyno showed, therefore VD is worthless. Trying to hack the parameters in vdyno to get an accurate result misses the point & design of...
Tough statement to make when it can't be applied throughout the whole RPM range though. Torque is definitely not greater than HP over 5252 RPM and in a drag race it looks like each upshift brings RPM back to ~5100, so the meatier part of that TQ band isn't in play but for a fleeting glimpse in...

Paper on "The effect of buffeting noise in passenger cars"
The first page abstract is dry, but open/download the PDF which has some great illustrations of what causes this.
