  1. Going catless to reduce drone?

I went through the drone debacle with a 65 Mustang 302. I ran through a series of three progressively quieter mufflers and the drone was still there. Installed a pair of No Drone j-pipes and it was gone. There are phone apps that display sound frequencies. When you drive into the drone range you...
  2. Going catless to reduce drone?

Get a j-pipe, ie. Helmholz resonator as mentioned above. They're miraculous.
  3. Anyone mess around with 60-130 times?

I noticed that. The Dragy will display both.
  4. Anyone upgrade their shifter bushings?

I suspected that would be the case after driving a friend's M4 (or was it an M3?). The shifter felt like it was out of an old VW Rabbit.
  5. Brake recall and throttle response

Another reason I will not have it done or let the dealer touch my car for any other reason involving ecu.
  6. Anyone mess around with 60-130 times?

So that is actually approx. 62 to 124 mph. Why not switch your Dragy to mph for a more meaningful comparison?
  7. Intake noise question

I was afraid of that. Nevermind.
  8. Intake noise question

It might be the diverter valve.
  9. flex fuel issue EDIT: resolved

Flex fuel is great. I had it in my GT350, but the reality is that the stock Supra fuel system becomes a limiting factor once you go much beyond e50. Instead of flex I run e50 and have e10 and e30 maps just in case, avoiding the installation and visible mod issues.
  10. Understanding Engine Break In

Re: viscosity, when I had Mustangs the recommended viscosity for a 5.0 Coyote was 5w-20. However, if you ordered the Track Pack it was 5w-50 for exactly the same engine.
  11. Understanding Engine Break In

"Back in my day" ie. the era of the musclecar, by the time an engine hit 50,000 miles it was starting to smoke and well on its way to failure. Today almost any engine will go at least 150K and many double that.
  12. Understanding Engine Break In

An N of 3 is definitely limited. As far as a link to the article, let me put it like this. I have been reading Car and Driver since 1968. Although the study was many years later, "links" did not yet exist.
  13. Anyone had this issue?

My first round of custom tuning three years ago was using MHD. I would get a warning message nearly every time I did a full throttle pull in first gear unless I first turned off traction control. I switched tuners and went to Ecutek and it's been perfect ever since.
  14. Understanding Engine Break In

Years ago, as reported in Car and Driver, GM did a study on break in. They took three Corvettes. On one they just drove it without any particular attention paid to the fact that it was new. The second they followed a strict break in protocol, pretty much as described in the video. The third they...
  15. Anyone mess around with 60-130 times?

Considering your setup your 60-130 is not impressive. My car with stock turbo and catted dp does 8.65 at that DA. I am running e50 so I suspect there is a lot left in your tune if e50 is available.
  16. For the Quickjack Crew

When assembling the hoses I would recommend teflon tape rather than the liquid thread sealer it comes with. I used the liquid and almost all the fittings leaked, creating a mess on my garage floor and tripling the time/effort to put it together.
  17. Anyone mess around with 60-130 times?

These are some really good times aided, in no small part, by super low DA's. That 8.08 was at a DA of -1620. At my last oil change I added a bottle of Liqui Moly Ceratec. My average gas mileage went from 22 to 24 mpg so apparently there was a significant reduction in friction. To see if there...
