I'm curious about this $49,995 price point that everyone is praising. Once dealers get them, I'm sure we can expect to tack on another 3-5k add in taxes, etc, etc... we have a pretty pricey car
Yes, those are the only similarities... This is how I feel when people say the cars look completely different :banghead:
I guess i was just hoping for something amazing from Toyota, but they have been letting me down since 02', why change now haha
LOL I think you need to go get your eyes checked!
People want this car to be something it's not soooo bad that they are losing their vision. Denial is the fist step i suppose...
In all honesty I think this car will be great, but I am not sure the reliability is going to be there. If...
You think so? I would assume they would be able to keep the cost of the car at a reasonable level sharing the LC chassis, but the motor would have been interesting. I thought Lexus had a V6TT with north of 600hp in the pipeline. A de-tuned version of that would have been fine for me :)
I would love to know what happened behind the scenes between Lexus and Toyota for them to not share ANY tech or chassis on this car. The MKV Supra would have looked a hell of a lot better if it was built on the LC chassis instead of the Z4. I get that the FT-1 was made 10% bigger for stage...
That is complete bullshit! There is apparent disgust all over the web surrounding this car from most people of all walk and sizes and I guarantee most don't own a MKIV... to say that is a completely ignorant statement on your part. The value of MKIV's isn't going to be impacted by the MKV, I am...
I think the first year or second year will be the highest selling year. After that, unless Toyota does some updates in the styling/power range department, I think it will suffer.
HAHA if Lexus makes the LC-F look like that, weigh a lot less and have 600+ hp... then I'll buy one and throw Supra badges on it :headbang::headbang::headbang::thumbsup:
I find it highly unlikely that they will be able to reach those goals when people start to cross shop. There are a lot of cars in that price range that are going to offer more bang for your buck. I think Toyota is relying on the fact that this car is called a Supra and LITERALLY EVERYONE has...
The real winners here are going to be the BMW guys. There is no doubt there is going to be a ton of aftermarket support for this car mainly because of the Supra badge. Everyone on the BMW forums is excited for that haha
Why couldn't Toyota angle the Supra's interior like the Z4 to give it more of a driver focused feel? I personally like the Supra better, but I'm sure BMW fans prefer the Z4.
Doubtful... I really want the Supra to do well and I'm a MKIV owner if that counts for anything lol. I've read horror stories about these B58 engines in other forums ranging from engine issues, engine recalls, coolant issues, turbos, rod bearings blowing out, etc... Hopefully the aftermarket...
Showed some of my buddies this exact post and this was the response I got. Also, for reference... these are the furthest thing from car guys that exist lol
