Going from stock to 275/40/R19 is actually a pretty decent impact (2.35 mph and about 4% odometer error). Given our speedos run high anyway, probably makes it more accurate. One other thing to consider is that even though a higher profile tire will fill the wheel well a bit bitter, it actually...
Here is the video of the lap with commentary by the driver. He does confirm temps were ideal, but acknowledges driver differences may have played a factor as well. Other than that, he has some really high praise for the Supra's performance on track.
It really depends on location. Being near a city in the northeast or Mid-Atlantic or pretty much anywhere in CA it's going to be tough to find a good deal. If you are willing to travel, you may have more luck, but there is some cost to that as well.
All engines have more vibration under load at low RPM (lugging). You don't feel it in a lot of cars since they have soft bushings on the engine mounts to reduce NVH, but it's a sports car. You're gonna feel it when it's not happy. As others have said, it seems like it's just the way the AT is...
To me the outlier here is probably the 2021 time, not the 2023 MT. Given the extra power, you would expect it to be a few seconds quicker than the 2020 over a long track like VIR. I wonder if conditions/driver might have hurt it that year.
Good for you man. I had my eye on that one a while back, but they said it was spoken for and they were reluctant to sell out of the area anyway. Guess someone backed out, but their loss is your gain.
It still says in build phase, but dealer confirmed it left port 1/7 and due stateside 1/18. Don't know who to believe, but I assume their info is more current than the public-facing stuff.
I would take it with a grain of salt. Mine shows it's still in allocation on that website, but according to my dealer, it is on a ship due to arrive in port tomorrow.
That's awesome and very generous of you! I will definitely take you up on that as soon as I actually get my car (and break it in).
Where are you located if you don't mind me asking? I am in Arlington, and I've only ever seen one Supra on the streets around here (besides the one I test drove).
This is...concerning. Definitely report it to your dealers. Sounds like this could end up being recall worthy, and the sooner Toyota hears about it, the better.
What worked for me is just checking this site daily to see if any new allocations pop within 100 miles of me and immediately contacting the dealer. Yeah, a lot of them will already be spoken for by the time they show up (even if it doesn't specifically say "sale pending"), but it worked often...
I mean you could just watch the last 2 minutes for that, but short version is Supra comes out on top on points, but they would both rather have a CTR for...reasons.
