Seems like it may not just be the chip shortage driving the Z's production issues.

I don't think the 5,000 mile service is actually an oil change. According to my dealer, it was basically just a tire rotation (I skipped it). For oil, the Supra is on a 1 yr/10,000 mile interval I believe, though I am sure most don't let it go that long. I changed mine myself at 1200 miles...
I honestly did not even know they made a ZL1 convertible. That color and those wheels are gorgeous though. Not sure I would have a need for that and a Supra, but 650 horses in a V8 convertible is certainly something.
Has anyone done any testing to see if they are actually any faster after installing sway bars? I know in general there is an assumption that stiffer = better/faster, but is there any evidence of it on our cars?
No kidding. Mine wasn't that bad, but that one looks like they set it up to actively try to kill you. I'm surprised fixing the alignment didn't fix the issue.
How long did you have it on the factory alignment? Wonder if the tires are worn in a way that is causing problems even though the...
Lane keeping does suck (but can be turned off), but the blind spot monitoring and parking sensors have been clutch for me. Blind spots are huge on this car. Also a fan of the HUD and wireless charging on the Premium.
All-in-all, if you got the base and never knew what you were missing, you'd...
Pretty much. It's to reduce drivetrain lashing from people who dump the clutch too abruptly. If you are not smooth with your clutch release, you will put all of that torque back into the drivetrain, which will increase wear over time. The CDV slows the clutch engagement (whether you want it to...
Dude, where have you been the past couple years? Allow me to update you. There was this thing called the COVID-19 pandemic. It was wild. Supply chains all around the world got royally fucked, used car prices went through the roof, and dealers had huge markups on the few new cars they had in...
It's not a demand issue, it's a supply issue. They aren't making that many and the few that they are making are often sold before they get to the lot for big markups. The ones on the lots are often marked up as well.
Haha, looks like we replied at the same time. Great meeting you at the track and thanks for all the advice! Hope to see you again if I visit NJMP sometime in the future.
I just ran them on my first track day with the Supra yesterday and they got up to about 41-42 hot the first session. I let air out throughout the day but kept them around 40 hot. I was trying to keep them from rolling too much as they are mainly my street tire, and I think I succeeded. Probably...
Just got this done yesterday actually. I reached out to a local shop and they said it would be ~$200 for a "luxury alignment" (not sure if there is something that actually makes it more complicated or if this was just a BS upcharge). The local Toyota dealership had a special for $89 regardless...
I saw one in person and it was undoubtedly a beautiful color, but a bit too purple for my taste in warm light. In midday sun it is a really incredible blue.
I'm not a drag racer, but I wouldn't, especially given the uncertainty about how robust the clutch is in the MT. 1st in the auto is shorter than 1st in the MT, which is why people launch in 2nd. Also, on the auto you are just putting the heat into the torque converter, which can take it for...
Salesman at hawkpadsdirect.com. Not saying it's the authoritative source as they are a reseller, but he said the rear pad I listed (from the table) is a different shape than the pads made for our caliper, like the DTC-30 (HB917W.626), which I ended up going with.
I was coincidentally wondering the same thing. I haven't seen that DTC 60 part number mentioned anywhere else, so wasn't sure the source.
On a related note, does anyone know which BMW's use the same rear brakes (premium), so I can check for compatibility?
