Be careful what you wish for.
A friend of mine had one for a while that I got to drive a few times. That engine is superb. The interior was 10/10.
It doesn't handle great though, and the transmission is laughably bad. It beeps at you if you try to downshift at a time it determines to be...
Have you made your own complaint to NHTSA yet? It's important that everyone do that. The higher the volume of complaints over the same thing, the more likely they'll look into it further.

I'm sure it makes a big difference if you have a catless DP (I do not, left it OEM) but the aFe Takeda seemed from the cabin to be just as quiet as stock with the valve closed, and even after replacing their center resonator with the delete they sell, there's still no drone or anything.
The HKS...
I will edit it all together sometime soon once I get the additional clips taken.
I used a real-ish camera instead of my phone to take the clips because it has a fixed audio gain. This is super important when recording the difference between different exhaust configurations because automatic...
I ended up with the aFe Takeda and I'm pretty happy with it.
It's a straight(ish) pipe with the valve open (I still have OEM downpipe, so it isn't crazy loud) and very quiet with the valve closed and the exhaust redirected through the muffler. I used their resonator delete pipe.
Also the...
I have, but the issue was present before. I first noticed it the day I took delivery in fact. I had already figured out the problem and how to work around it before ever doing anything with Bimmercode.
It would be nice if someone found a way to deactivate this system entirely via Bimmercode...
Near as I can tell both of my clutch switches are working normally (there's one that detects that the clutch pedal is all the way to the floor for starting the car, and another that detects that the clutch isn't fully released.)
This car has a feature that lets you drive away with the parking brake set. It automatically disengages the parking brake.
This feature having a lack of safety interlocks is the whole reason this rollaway hazard exists.
What you're describing sounds an awful lot like the CDV giving you more slip than you expect based on your clutch input.
It's the exact kind of thing that drove me nuts.
Get that f'in thing out of there! It's whole purpose is to shift the broken parts burden due to poor driving from...
When I park now, I make sure to turn the engine off before I set the parking brake. I also always leave it in gear if the engine is off - that goes for any vehicle I've ever owned with a manual.
If I need to leave the car running unattended (which is where this whole debacle becomes a problem)...
For those with cold shifting weirdness, the time came up to flush/fill the trans in my Tacoma and I replaced the factory fill 75W-90 GL4 (which looked to be in fantastic shape after 75k miles, and almost no metal on the magnetic drain plug) with Redline MT-90. We did my buddy's Tacoma at the...
It looks like you're not a manual owner so this may not have occurred to you as a feature to have, but give it a nice programmable shift light.
The manual cars really need a shift light for track work.
Even if there was a mode that turned the whole thing a solid color that would work great, as...
A friend has Tuxmat and they seem nice. I have Weathertech in the truck mostly because they catch crud very effectively, but after a few winters they don't look very nice.
In the Supra I've got OEM BMW Z4 mats up front. It's not a daily driver and I avoid driving in the rain, so the perfect...
It's my belief that there are *some* interlocks (or conditions) on the system that have to be met.
I believe one of them is that you have to have recently touched the throttle and brakes.
There also seems to be some conditionality around doing it multiple times in a row, or if the vehicle was...
No.
The car releases the parking brake automatically when you try to drive away with it on. This is a known "feature" and it doesn't have enough safety interlocks to prevent it from activating when it shouldn't, resulting in a rollaway condition.
So just as if you're taking off, let off the...
