Right, they are 2 separate items. I guess what i was more looking for, was the ability to shift from 1st to 2nd faster.
I figured the CDV delete would improve the 1-2 speed by reducing the time the clutch slipped.
And adding the clutch stop would reduce overall shifting time in general.
yikes, does the clutch still not completely disengage a few inches after the bite point?
I figured if the clutch was still engaged, the shifter would lock out or grind?
Perfect! I opted for the slave swap. I was going to remove the CDV myself, but I was afraid of damaging the slave etc.
Do you feel like your 1-2 shifts are any faster? or is the best way to get off the line simply just to do it from 2nd?
I'll do the CDV first and report the results. I was just curious if anyone had already tried it.
I am currently at 1500 miles. I'm glad the shift gets better with time!! :D
No indication of excessive clutch wear at your mileage? I know a lot of complaints have come about after 3k miles or so...
True, you can simply remove the CDV from the OEM ring instead of the full swap.
The clutch stop should technically be adjusted to prevent any change in clutch engagement point and premature wear. Effectively it should simply remove or reduce the "deadzone". It does seem very sketchy and could...
This weekend, I chatted with the owner of a F30 340i with a MT, and he basically described the same issues regarding the 1-2 weird shifts. He hadn't heard of the CDV delete yet, and said he was going to investigate. However, he did mention that his 1 mod (the Clutch Stop), basically improved...
Howdy! Nice to see more A90 MT owners joining the forum!
I am by no means an expert at manual transmission diagnostics, and tbh, i have not experienced anything similar with my prior MT cars either, but to me it sounds like the higher temps are causing the transmission fluid to get less viscous...
Might be a dumb question, but what portion of the car are the rear ones intended to protect?
Do the rocks fly inwards and hit the rear bumper.?
I was planning on just installing the fronts, since the side of the car is vulnerable.
Ordered the E90 slave, via Hidden Motorsports, and will have them do the CDV delete soon!
Clutch feels pretty good so far, despite me occasionally being an absolute asshole to it.
1-2 weird shift is the main reason for the CDV delete along with the lowered clutch wear.
I plan on getting rid of it soon. Did you by any chance notice a difference when launching the car from 1st?
The shop im getting it done at said the CDVs help mainly during take off from 1st, and are annoying the rest of the time.
I am curious if all this time, the easy launch from first was...
Does changing the out the slave, change the behavior of the auto-downshift rev match (manual noobs like me need love too)
What i mean is, does the auto-downshift rev match still work like before, or does the system now get confused since it's expecting a different behavior from the clutch.
i...
540WTQ on 93 sounds incredible!!!
510WHP on E50 would be insane for me top endl! Side note question, at that level, does the car feel stable WOT? Im on stock springs and I feel the car get floaty even at stock power WOT.
That's exactly what I heard from another local 2020 supra owner. MHD>JB4 for a more smoother power delivery and happier car overall.
How much more gain do you suspect from E50 over 93 Stage 2 OTS?
