My old VW CC would read that I’m going 5mph over what I actually was on the highway. I found this out because my radar detector would show me the speed I was going when hit with a radar. It’s a safety feature I believe. Just ignore it and go the speed you want and get a radar detector.

I experienced this today in the snow. My car was basically stuck going up a hill and was failing to get traction. It would only rev up to 2000 but I didn’t really push it harder as I didn’t want to get traction and hit a car. I think it’s a safety issue when no traction can be obtained

BMW M series cars have a feature where the car won’t let you go past a certain rev limit until the cars engine is at proper temperatures. I’m assuming they used the same technology on these cars. The reason this is a feature is so people can get in their car and drive and not have to warm it up...
