Congrats on your purchase. I bought my auto 45th Mikan in November. I did get to enjoy it for a month until the diff started leaking at 700 miles. Hopefully, yours will be fine.
Nope, the story has remained the same. Have you ever read of a Toyota or Lexus with a leak in a new vehicle that was not reported anywhere in a forum? Does that mean that the leak doesn't exist?
Does anyone here who has commented have 20 years of experience repairing BMWs and their diffs?
There was a big article in the Wall St. Journal, Saturday about Boeing's quality woes. Included in the article was mention that many companies are also experiencing parts shortages. Leading up to these issues was the fact that many of the most-experienced workers who were laid off during the...
Exactly! Thanks for the links.
Regarding my car: The expected parts/tools delivery date came and went, so I called Toyota corporate to explain the situation. The spokesperson told me that their parts acquisition team will investigate and get back to me, this week.
In the meantime, I found that...
At the current rate, you'll have less than 5000 miles after one year. (same with my Supra) I will (and recommend you, also) have the change done every year. Most likely, I'll be doing it, myself after the warranty expires.
Extending the wait time may help. Typically, there are a few ways that coolant may mix with oil:
Blown Head Gasket or Cracked Cylinder Head: These can allow coolant to leak into the oil passages.
Damaged Engine Block: A cracked or damaged engine block can create a pathway for coolant to leak...
When I was looking at 2017-2019 NSXs, I noticed that many were bought at auctions. Apparently, many dealerships, after failing to sell the cars for many months or longer, would send the cars to auctions. Often, the cars would be bought by non-Acura used car lots. If you look at the Car Fax...
That is a bit ambiguous. Perhaps it should've stated "maximum DROP in pressure". If so, you have passed the test.
Also, would the drop continue after additional wait time?
I already had a couple of people try to get me to push my brand new Supra. I wish I had a big sign that said "Break-in requires not exceeding 4500 RPM."
But back in 2019 while renting a McLaren 570S Spider, there was no such restriction. (Top speed is 204 MPH) So when a Tesla Model X driver...
The first time I saw Mikan Blast is when I purchased my car in November. Sometime after that, I saw quite a few colors at a meetup. Of course, no one else had a Mikan Blast Supra.
Petroleum-based gasoline that does not contain ethanol will still succumb to oxidation and volatile compound evaporation in a sealed container or tank, but these processes usually occur more slowly in pure gasoline. Expect non-ethanol gas to last at least 6 months if it’s properly stored...
I hope you're right. When I had my 2001 Corvette, it came from the factory with an AGM battery, but it could get very weak from lack of use. Of course, that was quite some time ago.
My car has been at the dealership waiting for diff tools and a seal for one month. There are now two other Supras there waiting for something. I had suggested that they keep the battery charged, but apparently a discharged battery is no big deal to them.
