Perhaps. I'm monitoring it every few days. Based upon what I've read, this transmission and diff design is used in quite a few other vehicles. Are they all bleeding, shortly after being driven by customers?
If it is a minor inconvenience.....
1. It is a design flaw. How many other diff designs burp out fluid at 700 miles?
2. Toyota and their dealerships need to know about it, and push ZF for a resolution.
3. If Toyota decides that it's not worth the hassle, a note in the manual should state that...
I had planned to take my car to a local BMW repair shop, last week, but not while the roads were wet from the passing storms. I told the mechanic that since I brought the car back from the dealership, I've seen a total of two drops on the garage floor, one after two to three 30-45 minute drives...
With key ignition switches there would be no digital resolution advice. I like the fact that you were given that advice. Discovering the "trigger" would be handy, indeed.
@FLtrackdays My thoughts exactly, Mark. Thanks for your support. I've had my Supra back for more than a week now. Toyota has a parts/tools acquisition problem, but at least they are well aware of this. My loaner vehicle was costing them a good chunk of money but perhaps it is not painful enough...
I used Eibach springs in my Mazda 89 MX6 GT and 2014 Mazda 3S GT. The 89's ride was much softer than the ride in my 2014 3. My MX5 has Progress springs and adjustable Koni shocks. That is still a comfortable ride at the present Koni settings.
....said the high school bully who never grew up. I'll have to admit that you do have a strange imagination that is funny in an odd kind of way.?
I was 21 when I bought my first (11 year-old) Corvette, and no, I never said I was "better" than anyone else.
For the most part, the options listed on my car's window sticker were part of the package. I did get the dealership to swap out the red Supra badge in the rear with a much higher contrast black one, yet I was not given back the $140 for that red badge option. Other add-ons were a safety kit for...
Did you specify one or more color choices? When does dealership #1 expect to get an allocation? What color is the one they're expecting?
I don't like non-refundable deposits because sometimes manufacturers (like Lotus) will raise the MSRP by thousands of dollars. That's one of the reasons I was...
This was the first time I had ever been to this place ( garagecollective.com ) and was very impressed with the variety of vehicles that were inside and outside. There was even a GR Yaris there (with Mexico plates).
There was coffee, donuts and a kegerator which didn't seem to be accessible. ;)...
Nice wheels! That is truly baffling that you would be sent one black version. The bar for hiring in the shipping department must've been set very low.
The other day, I was out driving the GR when I pulled up next to a C7 Corvette at a light. The driver, a guy who looked to be close to my age...
Thanks for that detailed insight, Kuji. I have (somewhat briefly) worked for a company that made PVD-coated (in-house) stainless steel brake rotors, but the design aspect was much simpler than that of an exhaust system.
My question for you is:
Have you replaced your exhaust system? If so, what...
