Had my first track weekend at MSR Houston last weekend. Been holding off on this post since I was waiting for a set of professional photos that were taken on track to be delivered. Still don't have them, oh well.
Weekend was awesome, most fun I've had since I was last doing this 13 years ago...
Yeah, it is what it is. Hopefully the ppf holds up for awhile. Right now its a shiny new thing and I like keeping my cars clean and in great condition as much as possible.
Just did the last round of changes prior to my 1st track weekend with the car coming up next weekend.
Put the Ti lug bolts on the car earlier in the week. Looks nice with the wheels, happy with this for now. I'll get to the studs eventually. Will not be running these at the track.
Had this...
Picked up a set of DTC 60/30 pads to use while I wait on the PMU order to ship. Also picked up another 2L of endless fluid. I ran another 400ml through the front driver's side yesterday and it was still pushing chunks of crud out. Ran out of fluid so I put the car back together and drove it...
Flushed the brake system today with the endless fluid. Driver's side front line is full of crap, never seen something like this on a new car before. Gonna have to crack open my last bottle and keep flushing. Quite the expensive brake flush.
First track weekend coming up in a couple of weeks, looks like the PMU pads won't get here before it. Debating on just running the stock pads for this weekend or grabbing a set of hawk dtc 60/30. Might run the factory wheels/tires too since they'll have me in the novice group and all I'll be...
Unfortunately my steep driveway forced that decision. At stock ride height the lowest part of the bumper was 2 inches from scraping without me in the car when entering it at an angle. If it becomes a problem the MCS coilovers I have in my buildout spreadsheet will be purchased pretty much...
Bumper got the holes filled and resprayed this week and the exhaust, dp, and alignment are done. Car is now at the ppf installer and will get that done next week.
Rear right toe was way out of spec with the left rear near neutral, makes me wonder if it was out of spec from the factory...
Starting to think through the next round of mods for the car while its gone. First track weekend is in about a month.
Intake Manifold - a lot of these are ridiculously expensive for what they are. $4500+ for one? Lol. Looking at either the wagner or do88 IM. Leaning toward the do88 simply...
Body shop is going to double bake it which is what the ppf installer recommended. They said it should only be a few days to cure. If it all works out the car should have the bumper done by Wednesday, exhaust done on Thurs/fri, ppf started on the following Monday or Tuesday.
Probably it for awhile, didn't get to the downpipe like I planned. Car heads to the body shop tomorrow to have the holes filled in the bumper. Then while the paint cures for a few days its going to a shop to have an exhaust installed and I'll probably have them put the downpipe in as well. Then...
Back to wrenching again this weekend. Loving how easy this car is to work on.
First up were the euro eibach springs and verus camber plates. Springs were easy but the plates were a frustration session until I decided to ignore their instructions and install them my way. I ended up splitting...
