  1. First time buying wheels - Will I need spacers or aftermarket studs?

I'd recommend aftermarket studs for the simple reason of getting rid of the hateful wheel bolts. I do swap wheels pretty often, so that was one of the first changes for me. As for spacers, I'd go with @Setoville's post. I'm running 18x10.5 35mm offset, 275/35/18 tires, and I use 15mm...
  2. Starting a 80/20 track street project. Teach me wheels.

At stock-ish power levels, the OEM brakes are plenty capable on track. I know some of the higher power cars have upgraded brakes, but I'd personally put that way down the list. If you've done race pads, good fluid, and brake cooling upgrades...and you're running out of brake, that's when I'd...

In before Razorlab... I don't have personal experience, but there are enough discussions on the failures here that I went with Verkline a couple of weeks ago.
  4. Starting a 80/20 track street project. Teach me wheels.

No disrespect intended...as I fought with crash bolts to get a half degree more of negative camber on a G-Stock (this should tell you how long ago it was) Probe GT.
  5. Starting a 80/20 track street project. Teach me wheels.

OK, now that I'm clued in on something that's a year old...Those static negative camber knuckles are a standard way manufacturers deal with cars that have been in an accident and don't align quite right without a little help. A more elegant solution than eccentric lower control arm "crash"...
  6. Starting a 80/20 track street project. Teach me wheels.

As someone who's been attended to by track medical staff before...I appreciate what you do. OK...good to know where you are in the learning curve. Yeah, hustling a loaded Cayenne around and hustling your Supra around for 30 minutes are pretty different as you well know. I still stick with...

  8. Starting a 80/20 track street project. Teach me wheels.

Link to this part? Not familiar with this at all. The front negative camber solutions I'm familiar with for this platform are camber plates (Verus if still stock-style springs, other options if 2.5"/2.25"/60mm coilover springs) or adjustable lower control arms.
  9. Starting a 80/20 track street project. Teach me wheels.

I appreciate your approach (getting instruction, wanting to do things right, good equipment, having a plan...etc.). In bone stock form, with nothing other than brake pads, fluid, and tires, the Supra is a track weapon. It isn't perfect, but it's way more car than most of us can use. I...

That's some impressive delamination right there. I believe you got your money's worth.

Well sh!t. Not surprisingly, there are no PFC-11s for the G29 chassis. Talked with Josh at Bimmerworld and he said that PFC makes runs of 20 sets of pads when they get enough orders, and there is no timeframe when they'll get to that threshold. With the ER-1 feedback from @AHP (Ken at KNS...

After saying I didn't want to be a guinea pig...I'm going to be your guinea pig for the PFC-11 on the front of the car. I'm waiting on Bimmerworld to get back to me and confirm that they're in stock, but if they are, I'm getting a set. They are expensive, but not CSG expensive. There is a...

Interesting, I've heard of the stuff, but I've never used that paint before. Assuming you're looking at the rotors as soon as you get into the paddock, does the color indicate the peak temperature reached, or does it indicate the current temperature? That reminds me that I need to bring my...

Ah - thanks for the feedback. I think Bimmerworld can get them. Wear characteristics sound like the CSGs, but sound like they give better feel.
  15. Race Tracking Your Supra - Information exchange

*******Fixed...mixed up Raybestos and PFC in my head... Anybody run the PFC 11 compound? Marketed as a "sprint/medium distance" race compound. PFC is cagey about releasing actual stats on their compounds...all I can find is a graph that makes it look like top of the temp range is 800 deg C...

    Well...I'm not fast...but I'm not exactly a first time HPDE'r either. Sounds like a Hawk HPS/HP+.

Edit...throwing in CSG for comparison ***** Some data points so I'm not working off of memory: PMu Club Racer friction compound: Temperature Range: 200-800ºC (392-1472ºF) Friction Coefficient: ~0.45-0.59 PMu HC+ friction compound: Temperature Range: 0-800ºC (32-1472ºF) Friction...

Evasive told me 3-month backorder on the ClubRacers yesterday. They offered the Pmu HC+ as an alternative that is in stock. It looks like the HC+ has the same heat tolerance as the Club Racer (800 deg C), but the friction coefficient is different - more streetable and better cold bite. They...

I can't speak for a 10, but my 18x10.5 et35 need a spacer. I run 15mm hub centric spacers all around with long lug studs. I've done DEs, time trials, and W2W races with spacers over the years and had good luck. When I took the rear wheels off my bone stock 944 years ago...and found a spacer...

I'll disagree with the recommendation for a square 18x9.5 - you're loosing .5" of wheel width over the stock rear wheels (19x10). If you're doing a square setup, 18x10 at a minimum. You can do that with 4 rear wheels from a 2.0 car if you shop well.
