Ok I took 20 min or so and fabbed up a piece to sit on the triangle trim piece. I made it with about a 45 degree bend and it comes 2" out. I'll get a mirrored piece for the other side and see if it reduces the buffeting on my way home.
I will be headed to Rockingham Dragway in North Carolina this Saturday Sep. 21 and hoping to get this car into the 11's on stock tires, stock turbo and no meth. If anyone would like to come bring it on! They will be doing test-n-tune all night. Hope to see some people there.
I def recommend Tail of the Dragon. This car was a blast up there. I also recommend taking Pisgah Highway up to the parkway and riding the parkway back towards Asheville. This gives the best blend of elevation changes, switchbacks, and long sweepers.
Haha. Yes there will always be comments like that from a forum. I too owned a 2015 M2 and a M235i and they did not do it like the Supra does. I do know other BMW platforms do the same thing though and have heard similar complaints.
Older models (E36/E46) do this because of rear trailing arm...
I think it just comes down to the quality and fitment. The catless versions will all sound almost identical based on the fact they they are restricted to the same footprint and the in/out sizes are already defined. The downpipe itself is not very long and doesn't offer many options for changes...
Agreed and I was just saying that your access to resources and your background puts you well ahead of someone that is not a lawyer, whether or not that is the type of law you practice. I would rather build the car with that time and money involved in chasing down a warranty claim to eliminate...
The stock turbo max torque hits pretty hard below 3k and I was comparing their dyno graph to mine and the Pure shows max torque like 1000rpm later. On a tuned stock turbo this makes for a lot of tire spin coming out of turns because of the rapid change in torque. I think moving that line higher...
Nice build yourself! Thanks for sending the pics. In terms of the Supra for a daily I have truly enjoyed it. I have had MK4's, C7Z06, GTR's, etc and I really have enjoyed this car for a daily. I would 100% recommend it for you.
If now given the chance to choose between a MK4 and the MK5 I...
I know what you're talking about and it's not oversteer, it's the rear diff making changes. It's a BMW electronic diff thing for sure. The new Supra is constantly making changes to the rear diff and feels like the rear is steering itself intermittently. It's not spinning but feels like it's...
So I went ahead and changed mine this weekend. I had 3000 miles on the clock and the oil looked pretty good, but a good bit darker. I definitely wouldn't recommend going the whole 10k before the first change. The Toyota dealer had the oil filter in stock suprisingly. The drain plug was...
It will be interesting to see how this build comes out and I am in the process of trying to decide on a Pure 700 upgrade or just go with an aftermarket turbo upgrade. Yes the Pure is a direct bolt on but it's priced at $2400 which would be more than a brand new Garrett G30-770 or Borg Warner EFR...
