im turbo swapped. EFR 8474. I was thinking maybe my turbo seals are toast but under boost (34psi) nothing turbo responds and hits like a freight, getting off the throttle after a pull nothing. But soon as I come to a stop it’s smoking like a chimney for a good bit. If the light is a long red...
...were completed so far at ~5000, 10000, 15000 and recently 20000. An alignment was also done when I fitted the wheels. I also had a lowcoolant message come on the way to work and posted about it on this forum and went to the dealership first. The dealership didn't find any leaks and topped...
Just had a lowcoolant msg a couple months ago myself, seems like it may eventually just need topping off. In my case there was no residue around the caps but the main tank was pretty low. I just filled back up with bmw ht-12 coolant (mixed of course). It was around 20k miles for me as well
As long as there are no overheating issues and the coolant level in the header tank remains stable for a given cold engine temperature then you can be pretty confident the system is correctly bled. I have in the past had to monitor coolant levels on engines carefully and it's important to get a...
Okay so these procedures worked but how do I know if I should repeat the procedure to try and flush out more air? The car did tell me the process was complete though after I ran it and it told me I needed to add more coolant a couple of times so I did that and ran the process again until it...
It’s been a while, but I’ like 95% sure it’s the exact same except the last step. Instead of putting foot on brake and hitting start button. Just hit start button twice. So ignition on/engine off.
the low temp side is pretty easy though. .Last few times I just filled it with engine running...

shit, i forgot the AC compressor is belt driven so it cant be that. thought maybe it was the auxiliary water pump as well. Also my coolant has been acting a bit funny as well (low-temp 3/4th of an inch above the MAX line) so i decided to do the built in bleed procedure thinking there might be...
I received the lowcoolant message this past week at 20k. I freaked a little thinking there was a leak. No signs of one but I just had the last free Toyota care service done 3 weeks ago and they “topped everything off”. I took it back in and Toyota said the engine coolant reservoir took a “cup”...
No code was thrown which was stranger for it being empty and having the sensor on it since it’s the larger tank. Do you recommend any specific aftermarket cap? Thanks
That doesn't sound good, residue can indicate a small leak but it shouldn't be empty, did the car throw up a code or a message on the dash about lowcoolant?
I have the stock cap, no residue, but I think most guys are getting aftermarket ones when replacing.
My 2022 3.0 had white residue on/around my larger coolant. I checked my larger coolant tank and it was basically empty. The smaller tank was still filled to the max. The car has 25k. I see people replacing the coolant cap it seems to fix the issue. Are people replacing with another OEM cap or...
That's strange - I never heard of that process before.
I just go with the 'MAX' level in the larger reservoir of the two, but always with the car totally cold.
Hey Guys, got a lowcoolant notification the other day and wanted to double check what the procedure is for topping it off. I see in the manual that we just top off the reservoir and cap it, but the actually coolant bottle from BMW specifies to run the engine with the coolant cap off until it...
I can’t look ? again. That car is too precious. CU Later Grey with beige interior (I’d pay over sticker for that ? - blasphemy). I‘m so glad that wasn’t out in 2022. I hope you can find one similar!
Making me think I need to insure my aftermarket goodies. Too much to try and pull out. What a...
