Finished the CSF cooling kit install this past weekend. I had a check engine light after I finished, but it was because I prematurely cancelled the built in bleeding process. So I cleared that out and everything has been great.
I used 50/50 mix of HT 12 Coolant from BMW and some of the...
Low temp (heat exchanger) capacity: 4.0 L
High temp (aux radiators + radiator) capacity: 10.5 L
Trans cooler, you will likely need to add 1.5 L of trans oil as thats the capacity of the new cooler +/- the little you lose taking stock one out
I used BMW coolant with HT-12 Frostrox when I did mine
20k, 5 months with oil changes every 4k-5k
issues
* lowcoolant without warning (just check often or during oil changes)
* oil consumption on 0w20 (switched to 0w30 might switch to 5w30 or 5w40)
* blow by (install catch can CCV side)
Hello, all. As you may or may not know, the Supra (and B58 in general) has two primary heat exchangers. The first is the "high temp" loop for the engine block, serviced by the rearmost radiator with coolant hoses on the upper and lower ends of the driver-side edge.
The second is the "low temp"...
...done with everything.
To be fair however, the result is very good - and if GM would have done it... it wouldn't even have a "lowcoolant" warning. They'd have considered the job done by including a warning light for "you've already overheated and done permanent damage to your...
It's weird we have to unscrew the coolant cap to see whether the coolant is low or not (ghetto) while the oil dip stick is electronic (StarTrek). Then the brake fluid is just a standard reservoir (PepBoys)..
Got some ceramic tint all the way around.
Installed the downpipe and an OTS tune from Titan, put in a mix of E30 and went to see what she would do.
Got down to an 11.783 at 119.11
Stock tires, launching in 1st - in Sport+
Probably should of set it down to normal for suspension and tried 2nd...
The other month I had lowcoolant levels but no evidence of any leaks. I had the coolant system pressure checked the other week prior to my track day and they couldn’t find any leaks. The system held pressure during the initial check and then a second test after they got the car up to...
Can anyone give me a part number for this? Seems like an easy fix, or would toyota cover this? Totally have no idea how this happened.. i drove it today with the notification of “top off engine coolant, low” i thought it was just because my drive way was slanted. But upon double checking, the...
It's not good to warm up any car idling. It's best to get in, get yourself situated, seatbelts, music, whatever, and go. Keep the load on the engine low until the coolant gauge reaches optimum temperature. There's no oil gauge, because it isn't important. Oil works at any temp. Coolant gauge is...
back in the days, the oil temp had to get hot before the vtec engaged on my gsr swapped civic. Yes I was a ricer, I jumped into the car when it was cold and wot to 8,000 rpms and wonder why my vtec didn’t kick in. Lol
I have mine coded to start on sport mode. Doesn't seem to affect it. It shifts at low rpm just like normal mode, it just won't go to 8th gear.
Oil temp isn't THAT important. Oil works at any temp. Coolant temp is a good indicator for a warm engine and all the metals have expanded etc. Letting...
I saw the same thing when I purchased mine. Very quick and pretty even ramp up of temp for both coolant and oil. Definitely not "normal" so I did some research and the B58c design flows a good bit of coolant through the exhaust manifold which is build into the head. This heats up the coolant...
having IATs that are actually too cool is not a thing. Im talking real IATS not spraying the IAT sensor lying to the ECU IATS. However, Coolant temps should remain between 190-215deg F. colder than that you lose efficiency, and hotter than that you do as well.
