Black/Brown wire there is ground. Red is hot. I'd check current draw of the device. Excessive current-draw there could trip a warning light in the ECU. Otherwise, I haven't a clue.
Just guessing here but...it could be your device has a current draw which exceeds the parameters. I'd suggest disconnecting to see if the warning goes away. If so, check the specs on your device to determine current draw.

Its my understanding the holes on the inside of the hood serve as functional vents when the "fog lights" vents are opened and the hood vents are opened. Just fyi.
Be sure the Waze app in your phone provides for operation in the background. If you have this off, the app will stop when either the screen goes black or when you switch to a non-Waze app. If iPhone, go to settings and search 'background'.
