I'm only talking about downshifts, not shifting up. And especially in the lowers gears. I've tried both engine braking and braking myself.
It's not really a big issue, I was just curious if it might be a problem.
But it seems that others have the exact same issue so it might be something...
tried both just to be sure it’s the gearbox. Just letting the engine brake the car makes me notice the hard downshift between 3rd and 2nd very easy.
Yeah I know it’s difficult to compare because another person might not notice it.
I only have other gears to compare to and also my buddies...
I'm just noticing it because some downshifts feels very smooth and some don't. They differ quite alot. I'm even driving with the gearbox setting in normal mode. I'm not expecting it to be super smooth, I don't mind that I feel the downshifts. It's just that the ZF8 is a quite smooth gearbox and...
I'm pretty sure I noticed this since day one, but I'm not really sure it's gotten worse or the same as day one.
I bought the car at around 1000 miles, so pretty darn new.
I first thought it was the brake feel but whenever the car downshifts by itself, especially when the car is cold and you're...
Yeah, it must be that the sensor isnt disabled. But if it isnt, then how come it hasnt thrown a CEL during all thousands of kilometers I have driven it since we got rid of the OPF ?
Oh well, I'll reach out to them tomorrow so they can have a look into it.
The code is P244A. But yeah, the only thing I get when I google that is something with diesel particulate filters ? Maybe the OPF throws a similar code?
Either way I have to talk to my tuner about it, but I reckon it has something to do with the OPF sensor.
I still have the catalytic converter...
Just got this code for my first time ever. Never had any check engine light before. No message appeared on the idrive screen. Just a CEL.
I couldn’t even find it when I tried to scan it with BimmerLink. We had to scan it with a auto tuner to see the code. It said Particulate filter differential...
Old ass thread but anyway.
For me its the seatbelt retractor, especially on the passager side. It came back today after being quiet for atleast 4 weeks. ?
Anyone else having this?
Kinda old thread but I searched this up after I noticed this too. Pretty much always happening when it autoshifts from 3rd to 2nd in low/creeping speeds. When in higher speeds, or when using the paddles, the shift feels normal.
I guess the only way to solve it is doing a transmission flash...
So, for a final answer - if the temps stay within 200-260 F (mine has never gone over 235), then should I even care to switch to 5W30? Im running a stage 1 tune at 440hp, and all the time people say that I should switch to a thicker oil because the 0W20 is too thin and will shorten the life of...
Yeah, I started to realize that these temps are quite normal when it comes to these engines. I drove pretty hard this past weekend and the temps on the oil actually went down a bit, probably from the cooling kicking in. I never really went above 106-107 C (220-225 F).
Although I can see my...
Exactly.
I've mostly seen hate toward the Supra on the internet, usually by young trolls that don't know shit about the car (or sports cars in general). In real life, people go crazy over this car. It pretty much gets supercar attention.
Yeah thats quite a bit cooler than mine then.
Im guessing you dont have any logs when you had the 0W20 oil.
Either way Im gonna change to a thicker one pretty damn soon.
If 208 vs 230 makes any real difference for long term use - thats out of my league of knowledge when it comes to this motor...
