I went thru the same debate last year and ended up with an AT, keep in mind I'm in Vancouver Canada and it's fairly easy to get MT at MSRP so price was not the decision factor, I've had just short of a dozen MT cars and still currently have 2 fun MT cars so that affected decision too. I did not...
^this is what i do as well depending on scratch. Make sure you don't put too much paint at once.
I got my stratosphere touchup paint from ScratchesHappen and it was very good match.
If you are not skilled with wetsanding or polishing, I would suggest just building thin coats carefully until it's...
had my July 2023 built 3.0 recall done in 3 hours, no issues with the recall itself. I don't notice the throttle hesitation to be any better, the only times i noticed before was either coming off the brakes at a stop sign and going back on the throttle or slowly rolling thru a stop sign (low...
I don't see an MR2 happening, sure there was a Mid engine concept car not too long ago but the issue is Akio isn't the head of Toyota anymore, so even if he and the GR team gives the green light, Toyota still has to approve it. And with them really behind the curve on EVs, despite manufactures...
Supras seem to come out of the factory with pretty badly set alignment, would only get worse after hitting the road, check out this thread before alignment https://www.supramkv.com/threads/solved-literal-bump-steer.20636/
This is actually very common in Europe and some Asian countries with tight roads, mainly has to do with not enough space for a typical "tow" truck. Main limitation of this is possibly limited by max lifting weight, cost of equipment and additional training required.
Personally I don't like it, it reminds me of the BRZ too much and the badge placement is weird. But hey, it's on their motto "not for everyone". I like their other carbon stuff
275 on 11 is fine. I run 275 on 10.5" square and it can defs be stretched more. I would say some tires look way more stretched than others of the same size, CRS of the same size looks way less stretched than the factory PSS
Great driving, it looks like you're running a square wheel and tire setup, what width wheels are tires are you running? And what lowering springs are you running? How do you find the difference in handling between stock and lowering springs with 71rs tires?
Use adam's total clean, and a leather ceramic coating, I use Gyeon Leather coating for customers and holds up to 18 months on seats, for your wheel id say every 6-12 months for a few new coats, super easy to apply. Your wheel finish is gone for now, you need new leather or have it resprayed...
Check this thread out, although I didnt switch from ps4s to ecs on my Supra, I did in my other car. I replied in it https://www.supramkv.com/threads/ordered-ps4s.21892/#post-352141
I did a trip from Vancouver BC to Mt Baker in Washington last weekend and avgd 10.5L/100km, which is 22.4mpg, consisting of the following over a 200 mile trip
3 hours of crawling at the border
70 miles of spirited driving from the border all the way up to the peak of Mt Baker, 80% of the time...
Hi Jonathan, I'm in Vancouver BC but I will gladly drive down to NorCal to swap interior with you. I'm an Automotive Engineer and part time detailer so interior is effectively brand new still. There's a long weekend coming up next weekend for me, let me know!
Definitely doable, and I'll be surprised if someone hasn't done it already
Here's the typical checklist:
Gearbox (Supra, Z4, M2 & M3?)
Wiring for the gearbox and clutch switch: either full firewall harness or some degree of rewire/new wires (Toyota or DIY)
ECU reprogram/clone to MT software...
Heavy flywheel and slight rev hang will do that, especially if you are used to older cars and non-euro cars. I drove quite a few newer manual euro cars, so sub-consciously I lift off the throttle a little earlier before clutching in, when I drove a MT Supra in the city and spiritly for a day I...
yeah, pretty easy swap, i forgot to mention they're heated as well. No pics, my phone cant focus on the mirror when driving but you'll be happy with them. just search the long number on ebay they're not hard to come by
I got Euro Z4 ones works well, gives just enough more visibility so there's no blindspot in the lane right beside you. Driver's side still has auto dimming as well. I didn't want the aftermarket ones because the blindspot light doesn't work very well and didn't really want the blue mirror look...
When the A91MT came out a friend of mine got one, i do like the interior quite a bit, it hides some of the texture of the leather so it looks smoother, but i didn't like the wheel. When I learned the 24 in the US had blue over hazelnut I got pretty excited, but Canada didn't end up getting it...
-2.0 camber and near 0.20 toe-in per side in the rear rear drives very nice on the street and track, car still rotates well since it's such short wheelbase, -2.0 rear wore pretty decently on the track for me as well, I'd do even more if I track more but it's a good balance to not wear inner edge...
