Yeah I just put the tune back to stock, confirm OBD readiness with my own tools, then made an appointment to come in. Maybe they'll be nice, maybe they'll make a special case for you. Just give it shot. Worth a try to save another 3k for the Femto deal? No clue what that costs, mine is an...
If the downpipe caused errors it would show up in test failure page I think. I think since it's blank that tips them off that some tampering has occurred.
This was mine:
You could always try to play dumb and say you had all the tools needed to correct it yourself and just see what happens...
Yup that's it, no matter how clean the car runs if the monitor is disabled you will be flagged in the state system. What's worse is that the stock map also has this turned off by default. This value can be changed in any OTS maps as well.
My windows aren't tinted so that didn't come up for discussion.
They ask me if I tampered with the ECU, I answered yes.
Then he asked me if the car is equipped with a catalytic converter, I answered yes.
What they'll want you to do is return to the dealer and have them flash the stock...
Cool! Just a reminder, you need to make sure the catalytic monitor is set to OEM on the stock map.
They didn't jack my car up. The tech looked around the engine bay but that's about it.
They knew that the tampering was involved because the OBD test failure page was blank, no feedback which instantly flags you. Aftermarket exhaust isn't illegal so I don't think you need to change it back, for reference I have always had the OEM exhaust.
The MAC I was referred to is in...
I ran into the exact same thing in Mass with BM3 and an AMS catted DP. Flash it back to stock and make sure that anything modifying the catalyst monitor is just set to OEM. BM3 turns off the CEL monitoring for the cat even with the stock map, I didn't realize this and had to go see the state...
So the ride on the street has significantly improved. Much smoother over rough snow battered New England road surfaces. On track it felt exactly the same with the added benefit of soaking up bumpy surfaces. I feel like the high speed compression is reacting much faster. From what I...
Lowering the pressure this weekend before driving to the track. I've done the same commute to the same track on 250PSI with recommended track starting point for LS/HS comp and rebound. Dropping it to 200PSI for the trip and track day there. May try 175PSI for the commute back.
Luckily MA bases excise tax (car tax) on the original MSRP in the year of the purchase. Still hate it though.
I'm a transplant from GA, only paid tax/tag/title on initial purchase when I lived there. No more fees after that, no birthday tax. I think the bulk of counties in GA don't even...
For all of you who went with JRZ or another triple adjustable shock, what gas pressure did you settle on? I can see reducing the pressure a little on a double or single adjustable shock to handle high speed wheel motions but with separate high speed bump control would it matter as much...
I am also 5'6" and have an OMP WRC-R bolted to the floor. It's low but I'm using one of these https://racetech-usa.com/shop/seats/cushions/booster-cushion. Fits right in.
I'm staggered right now on VS5-RS 19x.5 and 19x11. Originally went this route because I didn't think I'd move from regular springs to coilovers and didn't want to run spacers for a square setup. That quickly changed and now I'm looking to go square on 18's. There's just seems to be so much...
