Piastri should have won today. I still don't understand why he did what he did. It was unnecessary. Max didn't have the pace to challenge him. I think the buddy-buddy stuff is finally over at McLaren. You can tell Piastri is losing that cool of his with how he was after the race. I can see them...
NICOOOOOOOO!!!! So happy for him!
What a race. Max's low downforce cost him. Higher tire wear, more sliding, less downforce in the wet, harder to bring back up to temp after a Safety Car, but, his slide gave Nico his podium. So in the end super happy.
Piastri's penalty was warranted. It was...
Lap of the Gods! Unbelievable. I can't see him keeping the McLaren's behind tomorrow in the dry with their gentle tire wear, but holy crap. That was epic. Lewis too, fantastic effort in that dog of a car.
A hard break-in is the BEST break-in. As long as you let the car fully warm up (while driving, not in your driveway) before you put a lot of load through the engine, you'll be fine.
No need to let it idle to warm, in fact it's worse for the car than to do it while driving, and once it's warm...
I really hope the rumors are true and Max goes to Mercedes. If anyone can nail new engine regs it's Mercedes. Their car design seems to be on an upward trend again, McLaren's "party piece" will be outlawed at the end of the season, and with Antonelli it'll make a great pairing.
Not much to say. Was a bit boring after the first stint. Was looking forward watching Max fight to the front, had a good start, Kimi had a rookie error, and other than Oscar pressuring Lando for a bit, that was really it.
So Lando shouldn't try and pass his teammate to close the gap for the title?
Season isn't even halfway done and Lando should just hand the title to Oscar because they can't race each other.
Lando made a mistake, but he had every right to try and pass him, cleanly.
The track is funny there...
Oh absolutely! I will say George had a phenomenal start. Nothing Max could do about that. He drove great all race. Just thought the bit behind the SC was unnecessary.
Max wasn't alongside until Russell decided to slam on his brakes. You see him accelerating, look for Max, move out the way, and slam on his brakes.
Besides that, Russell failed to stay within 10 car lengths of the SC. That alone is a penalty, which Russell got last year, and Perez before that...
RedBull lodged multiple protests against Russell, as they should. Leader has to stay within 10 car lengths of the SC until the lights go out, and that entrapment BS is just unsporting. Fully deserves a penalty, but, he's British so nothing will come of it ?
Russell trying to trap Max into overtaking under the Safety Car, what a pathetic weasel ?
Piastri was damn lucky Norris didn't end his race too. You could see it coming.
Other than that, pretty boring. Hamilton should really think of retiring. He's just not fast enough anymore. Leclerc is done...
