I should probably clarify for Marshall, he means it’s got such a wide range if you have a flex fuel sensor. And EcuTek.
I believe the ECU can compensate quite a bit for ethanol content without an ethanol sensor as long as you can’t go crazy with mixing and max out the fuel trims.
I see, if long trips, daily ability, depreciation, and reliability are a concern, you’d have to decide which is paramount to you as I feel like older cars are a big risk in terms of things going wrong and the new cars are inherently better to daily drive.
My mother had a 997.2 C2S. It was a wonderful car. Very raw and a great car. It has the same issue as the GT4 to me though in that it is not really a playful car on anything other than a racetrack. The rear has all the grip so the front is constantly pushing if driving semi-conservatively.
Oh come one, your 4Runner isn't fast enough for you? Mine's a rocketship! In all seriousness, I would probably buy a GTR if depreciation is your biggest concern. To me, it seems it's likely to follow the same valuation curve as the MKIV as it is already a bonafide legend. It kinda sucks as a...
So how are you liking the JB4? I keep hearing complaints of jerky power delivery but was curious if this applied to the Supra. Also, I heard if you go catless the JB4 needs some tweaking to work properly?
I feel like I saw this a lot... But Supra no question. M2 just feels numb and stiff, an interesting oxymoron imo. I have had a F80 M3, driven multiple M2's both Comp and not, and had a 981 GT4. The Supra and GT4 are much better.
Antilag is not really meant for the stock turbo, it's for upgraded ones. Map switching is useful for different fuels and/or power levels without needing to reflash.
Back end flash. It's a tune MHD does in conjunction with Burger. It allows the JB4 more direct control without needing to circumvent stock ECU limits and whatnot.
I'm very confused, you installed a Pure800 and you're still running just a piggyback? If so, you really need to get an actual tune. At this point (if I understand correctly), you are running the compressor map for a much smaller turbo than what you actually have. This means the car is requesting...
Hi! I have been heavily digging into the whole Supra/B58 tuning scene and a thought came to my mind:
Has anybody blown up their Supra yet?
I personally haven't seen any reported cases from any tuner, any power level, mods, etc. So I guess I am mostly searching for anyone who has...
It's funny to me how much more simple my 2018 4Runner is compared to the Supra. Only 2 years apart and from the "same" company yet one feels like something from the 90s to early 00s and the other is pretty loaded for today's standards.
I had a DCT in my 1 series. That thing was scary sometimes. If you were pulling out of a driveway and slowed down then suddenly gassed it, the car would just give up and roll into traffic without any power. Eventually it would start accelerating, but I almost got hit a few times before I learned...
You can buy 5$ door deflectors that provide the same effect, albeit slightly less pretty. They are made by hypersonic, two have writing on them, two do not. You just cut them to fit and paste them on. They work up to about 80 mph.
You can easily just get a bit of Xpel or Suntek put on the rear quarter/bumper. I bet you could get it done for like $50 or do it yourself just as easily.
