The heat shield is extra; I like it as it makes the downpipe different than other options offered on the market.
In my opinion, the heat shield has no real downside, but realistically you won't get much benefit from it outside the track either.

The downpipe improves the sound of the car. It gives it a deeper growl that feels like OEM+.
Its enough for some drivers, but most who are looking for a sound upgrade will need to pair their downpipes with an axle back
Expect a deeper mid-range tone with a more aggressive high RPM sound.
Consider it Sport++, sounds very similar to stock when driving under 2500 RPM but then opens up after.
